Guy's Perspective

Is there a chance

My name is Jake.

I was told not too long ago that the brothers are trying to start a Tagalog group within this area. They were looking for brothers and sisters who would be willing to support the group and learn the language. They've set up the first meeting and it was held today. I attended just to see what it feels like and its going to be a different experience for me.

We arrived late....I think my brother and I are one of the last ones to arrive.

At first, I thought I was going to be confused but the brother who gave the talk, was also translating his talk in English for those people who doesn't speak the language very well or at all, people like me. I'm glad he did that so I can understand even a little bit. The talk was motivating filipinos to actually start and join the group because there are filipinos out there that are in need of the truth. The talk was pretty good from what I understood anyway.

The Watchtower study was also held in Tagalog. I had no idea what they were talking about but it was cool to hear other people speak and comment in a different language. I had a Tagalog watchtower with me so I can keep up with the reading and maybe learn something. I also have my English version of the Watchtower next to me so I woildn't be completely lost. And surprisingly enough, I was able to give a comment in Tagalog. I read from the paragraph but I felt accomplish! I've done something I never have done and without any help, I've succeded in giving a comment. I was proud of myself!

After the meeting, almost everyone wanted pictures. I've never seen so many people take that much pictures before. everybody had their phone out. Taking pictures with friends and family. The whole group wanted a picture and so people took like maybe atleast 10 pictures of us. and with 5-6 different cameras. No one knew where to look so in the picture, peoples faces were all over the place.

They took pictures with only the sisters first. The group started with these three teenage girls who wanted a picture with just them but then other sisters saw them and they started joining in so the picture that was supposed to be only of those 3 girls, became one big group pictutre of the sisters. It was fun though.

Then it was the brother's turn for the picture. Everybody was gathered. I was in the front and my brother, Troy, was trying to excape the picture but then everybody called him and he was forced to take a picture with the group. I think atleast 5 pictures were taken from like 5 different electronic device. I never knew how much Filipinos love taking pictures.

It was a different experience because people share different cultures but it was definitely fun.
