Chapter 7
MatchmakerWhen the evening air sets in and things begin to cool, Chanyeol advises Baekhyun to don a wool covering for his shoulders and the two set out along a path Chanyeol explains he likes to ride on regularly. The horse, Gray Rise, while still extremely large in size, turns out to be also extremely calm and gentle. Chanyeol’s personal horse, Torus, wasn’t apparently fit for the smaller boy to ride so Chanyeol had chosen a much more tender horse for them to ride on together. Baekhyun of course is automatically left blushing madly at the thought the elder had put in for him, and he doesn’t even have time to panic about sharing a horse before Chanyeol has already mounted himself on the saddle behind the small boy and started riding off down the path.

Chanyeol tells him stories of his childhood, most of them ones he has already heard from the man’s mother, but he doesn’t tell Chanyeol that as to not spoil his fun. The sun finally begins to set, and Baekhyun’s eyes widen as the view of the trees before him opens up and a clearing with a beautiful river running through it. “Ch-chanyeol…” “It’s beautiful isn’t it?” Baekhyun can only nod, his gaze trapped on the setting sun in the distance. With a grunt Chanyeol dismounts their horse and reaches his hands up to Baekhyun, securing a hold on the boy’s waist before lifting him up and off of the saddle. “Here,” Chanyeol reaches his hand out to Baekhyu
