That Empty Space between Us

Description

Hi all! This one-shot, as in, super-duper one-shot, I think, is dedicated to my friends--Abigail and Kristine--if not because of them, I might not have had done this one-shot. I wrote it in one sitting, just 'coz of waiting for them for like, an hour or two... I came up with this.

So... yeah! Hope  you'll like it, though it is barely short... literally.

Foreword

Sitting alone on a bench underneath the shade of a tree standing tall, feeling the warmth of the sun’s rays as it refracts in the swaying leaves. Wind howls in his ears “to leave”, “to go”. But he remained there, on his place, eyes laid into eternity, watching the people walk by in a fast-paced motion, staring at the falling leaf swirling and twirling and swaying in the air until it lands on the ground.

Falling. That’s just how it is, to fall even though there’s no one to catch you.

Shades of gray painted the once colorful picture of life Jungkook had. It fades… just like photographs, when filed and stocked for years waiting for someone to at least have a glimpse on those used to be treasured memories which has been forgotten.

Waiting is the only thing he knows, to wait… wait… wait… regardless of knowing the uncertainty of his comeback, or, if he is really coming back.

Does he worth the wait?

That question keeps on echoing in his mind, yet he ignores it, hence, followed his will to wait and has never moved on; still hoping that he’ll love him, again; still looking forward to be together, for once.

He loves him but he loves someone else.

He is hurt yet he is happy.

He loses. He wins.

Waterfall of agony streams down as he closed his eyes, trying so hard to ease the pain in his heart. Then thoughts of yesterday started to fill in, from the happiest ones up to the saddest parts of their ironic relationship when he left him in misery, without even a word or a simple goodbye.

Jungkook was just another trash for him, that when he’s done and found something new to replace him, he could barely throw him away into the dumpsite where he thinks he belongs.

Another breeze whispers to him, “need a lift?” then that used to be empty space beside him rests a man outstretching his arm, handing him a hankie.

“Th-thank you…” mumbles he.

“I’ve always seen you here, like, everyday, on that same spot of yours.”

“Really? But- I haven’t seen you.”

“You must not have been looking.” The man draws a smile. “The name’s Taehyung by the way.”
