Meet Again

My feelings were real

Classroom 4-B

 

“Unnie!” Mina shouted while putting both hands beside the corner of and waving at her unnie's.

 

When Kayleen appeared that morning, surprisingly, there was something so different about her. Her expressions were gentler and not-so-scary as before.

 

Mina recalled the moments when they first met and giggled at the thought of it.

 

However, the smiles on her face gradually vanish as she saw another figure behind Kayleen..,

 

“Oh? Chen..Op..pa?” she mumbled in disbelief..,

 

Kayleen turned to Chen and it looked like they were discussing about something before they bid each other goodbyes,

Amidst of that, Chen actually spotted Mina being in that classroom, he acts by putting his hands up and waving at her before he’d disappeared from their sight.

Mina was taken aback, she brought both her hands above her head and hit herself twice,

 

‘BAAM’,

 

“Ouch, that’s hurt..” she whimpered,

 

She’s regretting her own actions, and yet, her eyes continued to follow Kayleen until she finally settled beside her.

Mina gulped and slowly leaned towards her side,
 
“Unnie..good morning..” she started by greeting her,

 

While no response from her, Mina attempts to lean closer..

 

“What are you doing?” Kayleen asked, tilting her head slightly into her left, to where Mina was..

 

Mina’s lost in her own dreamland, only God knows what’s stuck in her mind,

 

“Did the..two..of you..dating?” she inquired, followed by a wicked smile,

 

Kayleen turned her gaze into hers; she really wanted to applaud this girl for her magnificent assumptions,

 

“Chen oppa..he’s just..”

“Yes..yes..” Mina’s yearns to hear from her and subconsciously leaned herself closer and closer to Kayleen.

 

It was amusing to see her expressions at that time, Kayleen couldn’t help but smiles wryly,

 

“Unnie! What is it?!” she’s becoming impatient,

 

Kayleen turned her gaze elsewhere, and starts ignoring her,

She resumes what she’s doing earlier,

 

“Yah..how could unnie do that to me? Even yesterday, I saw with my own eyes that the..two..of..you..ehemm..came back together!” she said.

“Ironic..” Kayleen uttered softly,

“Uh? Why why why?!” she’s urging her to explain.

“Unnie! Please!” she even begged her,

 

“He just came to walk me over...” She answered, exasperatedly,

 

Just, short and precise.

 

Mina’s jaw dropped as she listens to it,

 

“M-woooo?” she grimaced, pouted and glaring at the person next to her,

 

Kayleen appears calm, but she’s smiling wryly on the other side,

< Recess Period >

 

The bell rang, it’s brunch time!

Half of the students went out from the classroom, some would brought out their own food and shares it with their friends,

 

“Unnie..aren’t you hungry? I prepared some dish this morning, do..you..want to..”

 

Mina’s turned her head to the right and contemplating..,

Meanwhile, Kayleen saw she takes out a small container from her bag,

That's reminding her of the old times, when she used to prepare food for her best friends, Mei..

During the recess period, they would always be together. It was a simple but also a delight memories from her past,

 

“I can..a..little..” she said, softly..

 

Mina’s eyes widened, too, ..

 

“Unnie..it’s not much but, thank..you..really..thank..you..” she’s almost cries in joy,

 

The whole scene was witnessed by Shairon, who standing outside of the classroom, watching over them.

 

“Kayleen, where are your manners? When someone brings food for you, shouldn’t you smile a bit?” he whimpered,

“Op..pa!” a voice greeted him.

“Uh, Shila-sshi..” he turned to Shila at his right.

“Mina...she couldn’t do the duet performance with oppa anymore..” she uttered, while glancing at Mina inside the classroom.

 

Shairon was bewildered,

 

“M-wo? Wae-yo?” he asked,

“Nee..jinjja yah. She’s just a bit busy these days, with the new student and all..plus, she’s..not..that great..either..I could find repla..”

“Wh..what? So..she’s even asking you to convey it to me? Not even telling me directly?” he said, imprudently..

“This cannot be..”

 

When Shairon was one step ahead into the classroom, Shila held his arm..

 

“That unnie, I mean..the new student..Oppa, do you know..her?” Shila tries to distract him by asking about Kayleen.

 

Shairon paused as he choked down his rage..

 

“Did she tell you that?” he inquired,

 

Shila didn’t response immediately; instead, she glanced inside the classroom, where the both of them were eating together.

 

“Jeez..that Mina..she even looked so happy with her new friend..” there’s a spark of jealousy within her when she saw Mina and Kayleen were together..

 

“Aniyo..I..heard your guys..talking the other day, in the hospital..” nevertheless, she clarified things to Shairon.

 

His mouth widened,

 

“Ahh..” he responded, ..
 

Shila looked at him in wary,

 

“So, did you guys met before this?” she continued, not wanting to miss out the chance to clarify her doubts,

 

Shairon’s attempted to clear his throats by saying,

 

“That’s not true..We’re..I mean, never..met..Actually, we met..but..”

 

Shila’s jaw dropped, she couldn’t comprehend this oppa!

 

“Aisshh..” Shairon sighed heavily,

“We used to..be..neighbour..” he finally found a supposed wise answer to feed Shila but,

 

Shila’s gone.

 

As he attempts to look around, eventually his gaze locked on Kayleen, that actually were looking at him too,

Kayleen walks idly towards Shairon at the other end of the Hall,

He gestured her to meet outside earlier,

Kayleen crossed her arms against her chest and acts grumpily,

 

“What..” she uttered,

 

Shairon rolled his eyes before her,

 

“You! What..did you tell to Mina-sshi? Why is she cancelling our duet performance? Huh? Yah..I’ve already done my part to pretend that we’re stra..”

“Stop!” she cuts him off,

“I’m going off..you’re seriously ill-mannered..sunbae..nim..” she speaks whiningly..

“Yah! Yah..who’s really at fault here anyway? Why are you acting senselessly when someone older is talking nicely to you, huh? Where’s you manner, Alice -sshi?” he raised his voice,

 

Kayleen snorts at him,

 

“Sunbae-nim, do you not have class? Well, I do..so, I’ll be going now..” she claimed.

 

Shairon tried to suppress his anger and sigh,

 

“Yah..I mean, Alice-sshi..can you do me a favour, huh?” he talked nicely to her,

 

Kayleen’s halted her steps,

 

“Oo..” she responded, nonchalantly,

“Can’t you persuade her to perform the duet with me? Chaebal..” he asked, desperately..

 

Kayleen turned to face him,

She smiles at him wryly,

 

“Why should I?” she questioned,

“Because we’re friend..aren’t you going to help me out? Huh? I helped you with..Jai..” he bites his mouth, and looking away..

 

Nevertheless, he’s still eyeing on her..

 

“Arasso..” she eventually agreed.

 

“But, I have a condition.” She continued.

The last bell rang, and the class for today finally finished.

 

Mina can’t wait to go back with her unnie, she quickly put all of her belongings inside her bag in one swept,

 

Kayleen was eyeing on her,

 

“Unnie, aren’t you going to go back?” she asked, while glimpse at her,

“Shairon..” but, she paused.

 

Mina quickly turned her face to Kayleen,

 

“Shairon sunbae?” she repeats after her,

“Why?” she was confused with this unnie behaviour today,

 

Kayleen deliberately looked away..,

 

“Unnie? Are you going somewhere after this? ” she persistently questioned her,

 

Kayleen hisses,

 

“Aniyo. Didn’t you have practices..with..Shairon sunbae?” her turns to query her,

 

Mina pouted,

 

“Aniyo..I’m not..doing it..anymore..” she replied shortly,

“Why? Is..it because of me?” Kayleen asked,

“Aniyo..I’m just..” it was during that moment, she saw Shila from a distance, glaring at her,

 

Then, she remembered the conversations she had with her the other day.

Kayleen notices her change of demeanour and turned at the direction she’s looking at, and she spotted Shila..
 

Kayleen recalled Shila the other day, when both of her and Shairon was talking, she was only nearby.

 

“Someone..didn’t let you..do..it?” Kayleen uttered, while her eyes on Shila outside of the classroom,

 

Mina was panicking,

 

“Aniyo..it’s not like..that.” she deviates her eyes from the both of them,

“I’m just..not..that good.” She lied,

 

But, Kayleen see through that,

 

“Then, just do..it.” she told her,

“But..”

“I’ll accompany..you..” Kayleen promised her.

 

Mina lifted her face towards Kayleen,

 

“Unnie..”

< Auditorium Hall >

 

Beautiful melodies filled up the spacious hall. Kayleen was glad she came. Both Shairon and Mina were doing a good job, they really have chemistry with each other. Seeing them made her realized the feelings she had lost these few years back,

Once in a while, Mina would glance at Kayleen and smiles widely for her. It’s been such a long time, she’s almost forgotten the feelings of joy, friendships..and such,

 

“Kayleen..Alice.” suddenly, she heard her name being called upon,

 

The beautiful melodies she heard earlier was abruptly stopped,

 

She hovers her eyes at Shairon, but Shairon was already standing from his seat and looking at another direction,

While Mina was also turned to the same direction as him,

 

“Jai..jai…son op..pa?!” Mina shouted,

 

Kayleen was asphyxiated as she heard that name,

Her whole body was trembling,

 

“Yah..”

 

Before she realized it, someone grabs her hand and she was forced to face with that person,

 

It was him..Jaison.

 

Jaison looked at her with wariness,

 

Kayleen sense the cold sweats accumulated across her face,

 

“Yah..” he tightened his grasps,

 

"Ahh.."

 

Kayleen whimpered in pain,

 

Jaison continued to stare at her, as if looking at a prey..

 

Kayleen gritted her teeth, and painstakingly..lifted up her face,

 

Jaison’s eyes widened,

 

“Op..pa..” she mutters as she looked at him with uneasiness..
