A repeating knock was heard from Heerin's bedroom, making her jump a little. "C-come in!" A five-year old Heerin spoke hesitantly. Her door slowly creaked opened an unfamiliar kid slowly entered, taking in his surroundings. He then faced Heerin, who was on her bed, hiding behind her teddy bear due to shyness. "Hello, are you Heerin?" A six-year old Hansol spoke.

"W-who are you?"

"I'm Hansol!" He answered gleefully. "My parents are friends with your parents so I want you to be my friend."

"Me? Your friend?" she asked as she slowly comes out from her hiding place.

"Yes," he slowly walked to Heerin and held his hand towards Heerin.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm offering a hand shake, so we can be friends." seems like Heerin doesn't know what Hansol was talking about since she was only staring at his hand. Hansol noticed this and chuckled. He grabbed one of Heerin's hand and placed it on his other, then moved it up and down repeatedly. "There, that's how you shake hands." he said and showed his toothy smile at Heerin. "Now we're friends." he added. Heerin found herself smiling widely at her new friend. My first friend, she thought.

"From now on, you call me oppa, okay?" Hansol ordered, only making little Heerin confused.

"But what is obba?"Heerin asked curiously.

"Oppa is what girls call their boyfriends." he answered. "Now you have to call me oppa because I'm your boyfriend."

"But, you're not my boyfriend." she defended. "Eomma said that I'm too young for that."

"I am, you see I'm a boy and I am your friend, making me your boyfriend."

"Ohhh" she slowly nodded her little head in realization. "Okay, your my obba."

"No no, it's op-pa"

"Op-pa"

"Hansol op-pa"

"Hansol op-pa" she repeated. Hansol clapped his hand in delight.

"I'm jealous~" Minkyung, their new friend whined. "I want to call you oppa too."

"No, you can't call me oppa." Hansol shook his head cutely.

"Why not?" Minkyung frowned.

"Because, you're a boy."

You held my small hand and protected me
Always smiling only at me
Baby, we didn't know back then,

"Heerin! No!" An eleven-year old Hansol shouted as he saw that Heerin was about to cross the road with an approaching car in her direction. Ten-year old Heerin didn't pay attention since Hansol was too far from her. He ran as he could towards Heerin. He grabbed her before she can even make her next step and hugged her with his arms securely tight around her. Heerin, on the other hand was too shocked to do anything. She almost got hit by a car and now someone was hugging her. 

"Are you crazy?" Hansol asked, a little mad. His bestfriend can really be a little stupid sometimes. Heerin immediately recognized the voice so she relaxed.

"I'm sorry oppa" she said, her voice muffled because her head was burried on Hansol's chest.

"Be careful next time Heerin," he warned. "I could've lost you."

"I will, I will." she replied, slowly hugging Hansol back.

"You are so important to me so take care of yourself." he said, releasing the hug. He then held Heerin's hand.

"Now, let's go to school together, more careful this time." he said and smiled. 

You came to me, into my heart,
As something more than a friend....

"Okay! I'm finally gonna do this!" A sixteen-year old Heerin exclaimed, trying to normalize her unstable breath. She decided today that she's finally gonna confess to her bestfriend today. Well, took her long enough to find out about her feelings for him.

"Go unnie! I'll support you!" Minkyung said, massaging Heerin's back as if she was in for a boxing match. Heerin nodded in determination. It is now or never, she thought.

"CHOI HEERIN! WHERE ARE YOU?!" A familiar voice boomed from the outside of Heerin's classroom. Minkyung looked at Heerin and nodded at her. Minkyung stood up from her place to open the door and get out but before she even can, the door bursted open on her face. "CHOI HEERIN! I HAVE TO TELL YOU SOMETHING!" Hansol yelled happily. He was leaping up and down like kangaroo. It was not surprising though, he was always energetic. "Me too oppa! Me too!" Heerin replied with the same enthusiasm. 

"You first!" Hansol offered but Heerin shook her head.

"Aniya! You first! You seem so happy!"

"Okay! Okay! Here goes Heerin!" He said and fetched a piece of paper from his pocket and showed it to Heerin. "I GOT ACCEPTED IN STARDOM! YOU HEAR ME HEERIN? I AM A TRAINEE IN STARDOM NOW!" Hansol began jumping around again in too much happiness. Heerin, on the other hand, has her smile slowly fading away in realization. Tears started to escape from her eyes and they rolled down on her cheek. She covered and sobbed silently. 

Hansol stopped abruptly as he saw his best friend crying. He approached her ang hugged her slowly. "Hey there, what's wrong?" he asked, hugging his friend tight. "Aren't you happy for me?"

"N-no! Of course I am! That's why I'm crying oppa! Tears of joy!" She lied. What a big lie. She hugged her friend tighter, inhaling his scent, enough for her not to forgot his scent knowing that he'll be away for a long range of time. 

She knows how trainees are. They become busy in life that there'll be no time for school, for friends, for family. It means that  Hansol would be far away from her. No contacting each other, worst, no seeing each other anymore. But it was his dream after all. If she confessed first then Hansol might have second thoughts on leaving her. It might have ruined his dream. She can't be selfish now can she?

"I'm so proud of you oppa!" She said after realeasing the hug. "Train well okay? I know you'll succeed! I'll be supporting you always! If you have time, you can always talk to me! I'll always be there for you!" She said, trying sound cheerful as she can.

"I will! And if I succeed! I will come back for you."

"CHOI HEERIN GET BACK HERE!" Minkyung yelled as loud as she can to Heerin. It was already midnight and it's raining heavily. It was also tonight that Hansol will be going to Seoul. "YAH! I CALLED YOU CHOI HEERIN ALREADY! I SAID GET BACK HERE!" Minkyung was soaking wet. She was chasing Heerin under the rain. Heerin decided that she should at least tell Hansol how she feels so she was speeding her way to his house before he can leave.

Heerin stopped for a while to catch her breath. In front of her was the traffic light and the pedestrian lane. The traffic light signals green for the pedestrian lane. 

After catching her breath, she glance at the traffic light. It was still green. She thought that she would make it to other side of the road, she was wrong. When she ran, a car was already speeding in her direction. She heard the loud noise of the repeated honking of the car and that's the last thing she heard before being thrown by the car, her head landing on the hard cold concrete cement. 

"CHOI HEERIN!"
