Chapter 9- Conference and…..Lunch date?

 

Yoona’s P.O.V

 

So we’re going to pretend to be a couple, sounds nice, for me, but to him, it may be a bit…awkward.

Our CEO Lee Soo Man called a press conference, the day after the news surfaced. Wow he works fast.

 

“Yoona” an angelic voice called out to me.

 

“Yeah?”

 

“What happened to your date with Taecyeon hyung?”

 

“Oh, he cancelled it” I told him

 

“Really?” I saw his face literally lit up, is this something good?

 

“Yeah but he rescheduled it tomorrow” his face dropped

 

“Oh” silence surrounded us once again.

 

I shifted in my seat uncomfortably; oh did I mention we were in the car, with the rest of SNSD and SHINee? Well we are, and were seated next to each other. Jessica and Onew decided to let us start the ‘couple life’ already. They said “You should practice skinship, especially sitting next to each other or holding hands, people would love that”. If only I could tell them that back.

 

“The press conference is tomorrow, and so is your lunch date, what are you going to do about that?” he asked me

 

Yoona P.O.V (SNSD DORM)

 

“How am I gonna handle this?” I asked myself.

 

Taecyeon just called and he said to meet him at a restaurant named ________________ by 1 o’clock tomorrow, the same time as the conference. How am I supposed to tell him that I can’t go cause of a fake rumor our CEO made for publicity?

 

“Yoona” I turned and saw my Unnie Sunny.

“Neh, Unnie?”

“You’ve got a problem?” she asked me suddenly. I felt my body tense up.

“No” I said

“Come on, we’ve known each other for years now I think I know when there’s something wrong with you”

I sighed and gave up, I told Sunny everything.

“So basically all you need to do is find out how to make two copies of yourself. One to go on that date and one to attend the conference, wow that’s easy” her sarcasm haunts me to no end

“Unnie!!! This is serious” I whined

“I’m kidding, I want to change the mood” she defended

“So what do I do now?” I asked her

“Cancel the date”

“What?” I can’t believe she said that

“You know how my uncle gets mad, it isn’t pretty. The conference is important plus, as a sunbae you should help them” she explained

“So what should I tell Taecyeon? Should I go out and say ‘Hi, Sorry I can’t attend our lunch date cause of people and lousy camera timings’” I rolled my eyes as I finished.

“Yeah, go for it” she mumbled, while picking up a lollipop from my bedside table.

“What?”

“If the guy respects you, just say you can’t come and he’ll say it’s ok, without a lot of questions after that” Sunny said

I nodded, I’ll call him later.

Taemin P.O.V (SHINee dorm)

“Hyung, why do I feel this way?” I asked Onew hyung

“Feel what?”

“Do you know that feeling when you see someone, and another person comes barging in and they look perfect together and then there’s a strange throbbing in your heart”

Onew hyung simply nodded.

“I feel that, when I see….” My voice trialed of at the end

“With who?” he teased me.

“No one”

“With Yoona?”

“No.”

“Stop lying, you know this ‘fake couple’ thing Mr. Lee Soo Man did could have its advantages”

“Like what?”

“When you two go out into public places, you could hold her hand, Yoona would think it’s for the publicity while with you, its like telling people your hers, and shes yours” he carefully explained

“But for fake. It’s not a mutual feeling” I stated

“That’s the only downside to that” I sighed, it could be a little helpful

“AND, you’d finally realize your feelings toward her” I smiled at what hyung said. this could really help me.

Yoona P.O.V

I finally found the courage to tell Taecyeon about the soon-to-be-cancelled lunch date.

“Hello?” someone answered the phone

“Hi, Taec” I answered smoothly

“Oh, Yoona What’s up?”

“Are you busy Oppa?”

“Nope just finished recording, why?”

“Can..I…cancel the date?” I slowly said

“Why?” I in a large amount of oxygen and explained

“I’m going to a press conference tomorrow at lunch, I’m sorry oppa”

“Oh, is the conference really that important than me?” obnoxious little-

“Yeah, it is, our C.E.O planned it”

“Oh well, I guess it can’t be helped. We’ll have a follow up date right?” Sunny unnie said that when a guy is understanding or polite, he’ll understand it without questions following, then I guess he’s not one.

“Maybe, I’m not sure oppa”

“What why?” I quickly shut the phone, it may seem a bit rude but I don’t want to continue the conversation.

Taemin P.O.V

“Welcome, invited guests and media. Today SNSD and SHINee has a very important matter to discuss with all of you.” Our C.E.O said. wow I’m getting a bit nervous

“Will, the maknae Taemin start?” WHAT WHY ME!!!

“Umm, thank you sir” I stood up and bowed to the people.

“Good Afternoon everyone, well we are here to say something that would definitely shock you” everyone laughed at my remark. Even Yoona did. And she was right next to me.

Oh my gosh how am I going to say this.

“Everyone, Me and Yoona are dating” I quickly said and pulled her up to stand next to me, intertwining our hands.

We both looked at the staring, wide-eyed shocked faces of the press. I guess this was really unexpected.
