Why?
The Beauty InsideKibum walked to school with no other problems, but he knew that Jonghyun and
Sekyung would have told everybody what happened.
'If everyone hates me so much,' he thought, 'then why can't they just leave me
alone? It would make everyone's lives easier.' He sighed as he approached the
front gates of his new school. He was used to changing schools, due to the many
times he's been adopted, only to be left behind again, but he wasn't used to
changing like this. He was new to this area, in a completely new age group with
no friends to follow up with from middle school. He was alone, but he was used
to it.
He had previously received his schedule, but he didn't know any of the teachers,
so he didn't care anyways. When he entered the school building, he started to
walk to his first class , but it was pretty early, so he walked to his locker.
'Locker 319 ' he read the note on his schedule, walking in the direction of the
ascending numbers engraved in the lockers. Using the combination written on his
schedule, he opened his locker and a mountain of books fell on him, pinning him
to the floor.
He then heard the laughs of Jonghyun's group of friends behind him, but Jonghyun
just looked at him. The same way as he did before school. Kibum averted his gaze
down a few seconds after they made eye contact, the elder doing the same.
He sighed as he pushed the books off of him and stood up. He gathered them off
the floor and set them on the nearest desk in the hallway. In that moment, the
bell rang to go to his first class. Panicking, he ran back to his locker,
grabbed his necessary things, and ran to his first class. He cursed under his
breath when he noticed he was later than he thought as he arrived at the door.
He walked into the classroom, preparing for the worst. Instead, he was
greeted by his teacher.
"Mr. Kim, you're here. Please, introduce yourself," his teacher gestured for him
to walk to the front of the room. He hesitantly walked to the spot his teacher
intended for him to stand him and looked at his class. He felt his joints
stiffen as he saw all of the eyes staring at him. He took a deep breath, then
bowed.
"H-hello, I am Kim Kibum. P-please take care of me." He stuttered, looking at
his teacher, who pointed to the only open seat in class.
Which, of course, was in front of Jonghyun.
He walked over to his newly assigned seat and tried to avoid eye contact with
Jonghyun. After he sat down was when the whispers and weird looks began to be
exchanged. He expected this to happen, so he wasn't really bothered by-
"Excuse me?" A girl had walked over to him.
"Neh?" Kibum turned around to face her.
"Can you please take off your mask? Halloween isn't for a few months."
He just looked at her. Jonghyun didn't say anything, but just continued to look
at her with a surprised, yet annoyed, look. Kibum sighed and turned back around
in his desk to ignore this girl and her jokes. It wasn't until she began to tap
her foot and clear as he was taking out his required books that she
wasn't joking. He stood up in annoyance and faced his teacher.
"Teacher? May I be excused to the restroom?"
"Neh, Kibum-ah."
He didn't know which he was more annoyed at. The fact that she was so stupid to
think he would wear a mask to school, or that she actually confronted him about
it and didn't take the hint when she was ignored.
He couldn't have yelled at her right then. It would have been disrespectful to
his teacher and to the rest of his class. The last thing he needed was for
people to think even lower of him, and he never did like to attract attention to
himself. Well, ever since he was old enough to care what people thought of him.
A few years ago, two adopted families before his current one, told him a story
that was passed from his real mother, about when he was a baby. He was bawling
and making a fuss, and his mom wanted to calm him down, so she put a ribbon on
his head and he stopped crying.
That was definitely not Kibum now. He knew there was no point in making a fuss
about his appearance. Everyone he meets tells him the same thing. He will never
look decent.
He reached the bathroom and entered. He looked in the mirror and just thought.
That was all he could do in this situation. He just looked at himself, and
looked, and looked. Then, he started crying. He couldn't control the cold, salty
tears flowing out of his eyes. He couldn't control anything anymore.
His back hit the wall and he slid to the floor. He curled himself up, grabbing
his knees and sobbing into them. He honestly thought he would be strong enough
to make it through this time, but he didn't think it would affect him this much.
He sighed as he began to calm down and slowly released his knees. He looked up
to see a rather tall boy, but by looking at his big, round eyes, he could tell
the boy was younger than him.
"Kibum-ssi?" The boy uttered with a rather monotone voice.
"H-how do you know my name?" Kibum said, trying his best to hide his face once again.

Anyways, NEW CHARACTER INTRODUCED! Can anyone guess who the new character is? It should be pretty obvious, there's a few clues in there XD
Please comment what you're thinking about this story, what you think I can improve on or what I'm doing well, and any other things you might want to say. Thanks for reading! ^^
