2008 (Minho- 21, Taemin-19)

The atmosphere was tense. Sadness filled the air as Taemin cradled a now sobbing Minho in his lap. He gently combed his fingers through his hyung’s dark hair and wiped the occasional tear from his face.

Minho was in his third year in college and he had just been admitted onto the Korean Mens’ National Football team as a forward/striker. Being one of the youngest and most talented on the team, Minho quickly earned a lot of respect from the older players.

Everything was fine. Minho’s future looked bright and promising. He had a guaranteed spot on the team, was heading into his last year of college, and still maintained good grades.

That all changed, however, when he took a weird fall during practice and ended up tearing his ACL. He was healing quickly enough, but the doctor informed him that he could no longer play soccer professionally. At all, really.
