Foreword

 

In honour of Exo’s impending comeback, I’m also making a comeback. Hooray! I’m so not ready for a comeback, and neither is my body!

Anyway, back to the fic – this fic was meant to have something to do with vampires, which is not really my area of expertise. The only vampire-related thing I’ve ever watched/read and actually loved was Let The Right One In, on which this fic is very loosely based, hence the title. I really recommend both the book and the film! The title was yoinked from this song by this guy, and there are bits of his other songs scattered throughout the fic as well.

 

Just a few things worth noting:

 

- To save confusion, all parts formatted in italics are flashbacks. Flashbacks do not necessarily occur in chronological order.

- If you came here for the vampires, you’ll probably be disappointed. If you came here for the chanbaek, you’re in the right place.

- This fic has a second part, which I haven’t finished yet, because I’m an lol. The first part is probably hella confusing but it will all make sense in the end. Hopefully. I really, really hope it does..

- Yes, there will be a happy ending.

- I own none of the songs or lyrics featured in this story. Every song mentioned in the fic is linked so you can listen to it.

- I also borrowed a lot of parts from another film I love, which oddly enough has nothing to do with vampires at all. If anyone can guess what it is first, I’ll write you a chanbaek drabble/shortfic as a prize. (Big hint – /whispers/ John Cusackkkk) ---- this has already been guessed correctly, the answer is Grosse Pointe Blank

 

Also, if at any time you have any speculations about where the plot is heading – please don’t mention them in the comments because you’ll spoil it for other people, you spoiler. No one likes a spoiler. Spoilers are for cars only.

Chapter 1: This is amazing. There was one part where I felt the entirety of human heartbreak. The longing, the loneliness, the pain... It was written and described so well that I felt as though I was the one going through all of that. You've done a great job. Beautiful. Can't wait to read what will go down in part 2.
