The Day of Many Firsts

Simple Reasons

Wednesday came all too fast and half of Luhan's sanity was gone. This was going to be part two of deciding his future. As if one set of torture wasn't enough.

He felt a little bad for lying to Sehun; he actually did have work on Wednesday, but was he seriously going to decline meeting up with the boy? Luhan just worked a few hours in the shop, but let the manager know he'd have to be leaving early. He left the flower shop at around 12 in the afternoon to go home and get ready for his 4 o'clock 'date'. Well, not technically. Wasn't he just going to deliver the flowers? That's what he thought the first time, too, but look at how that ended up.

This time, he definitely would not forget the flowers. And Luhan specially made sure to keep them from going dead those past two days, using his florist knowledge and all. Almost forgetting his medicine that morning, he implanted into his brain to double check everything.

Four hours might seem like a long time to get ready; especially for a guy, anyway. But it wasn't just for preparing Luhan's appearance. He needed to mentally prepare himself, as well. Should he make another plan? But the first one didn't go quite as he imagined. In the end, he decided to just wing it. Act natural (or try, at least), and don't be obsessed. No matter how hard it would be. He didn't want to scare the boy away.

Luhan pedaled home with the same, familiar feeling. It felt the same as it did on Monday. Brighter than usual, more happy and everything seemed like it was for him, cheering him on. He felt the rays of sunlight through the trees. Perfect weather for a date, Luhan thought.

He should probably stop considering it as a 'date', since to Sehun it's probably just a quick drop off and then an 'okay, thanks!' before rushing away. Luhan frowned at his imaginary scenario. And he wasn't paying attention, either. His mind was too occupied to notice the giant crack in the sidewalk, making the front wheel dip down and become stuck, suddenly halting and throwing Luhan a few feet in front of the bike and onto his hands and knees.

Luhan took a second to wrap his mind around what just happened before he realized and rolled over to observe the wounds. It wasn't anything too serious, but it still hurt like hell. He had bloody scrapes on his knees and the palm of his hands and grimaced when he flexed his fingers. Great. Now he'll have to meet Sehun with a bunch of cuts all over him. But he wasn't going to let that stop him. Ignoring all the pain, Luhan stood steadily on both feet and waddled over to his bike. He gripped the handlebars and tried to yank the tire free, failing the first time. He tried again and finally got it out with minimum damages, much to Luhan's relief. Inhaling deeply, he straightened up and decided to walk the rest of the way to prevent any other injuries. He wouldn't want to meet Sehun with a broken leg or whatever (although, Luhan would probably drag himself there if he had to). He lead himself and the bike down the sidewalk slower than it should of been. At least the weather was nice.

After reaching his destination later than he should have, Luhan parked his bike on the side of the house and sighed. He checked the mailbox, only getting junk mail good for being thrown away. Unlocking the house, Luhan stepped inside and checked the clock. He had almost three and a fourth hours. The first thing he needed to do was clean his wounds. Grabbing the anti-infective and dabbing some of it on the area, he winced, but knew it was necessary.

When everything was cleaned up Luhan went into his bedroom and to the closet. First things first. Appearance. Fortunately, he already took his shower that morning, so that was out of the way. Now all he needed was a killer outfit. He didn't want to make it seem like he was trying too hard, though.

It was now time for Luhan's inner gay to come out.

Luhan sorted through everything he owned and compared different shirts like there was no tomorrow. Today was not a day for "ordinary". He needed something to make Sehun drool. What would make a good first (technically second) impression of himself "not at work"...

Something summerish, he thought to himself. Maybe a tank top or something? Nah, it's not the beach. Probably something kind of simple, and casual. What's something he would wear everyday?

After minutes and minutes of endless searching he finally gave up and decided on a pair of dark shorts and a loose, white v-neck. Plus, if he ended up getting wet or something his shirt could be kinda see-through and if Sehun was looking–

Luhan stopped his train of thought and slipped into his new clothes. Looking at himself in the mirror, he wasn't completely satisfied knowing this wasn't something to "make Sehun drool", but hey, it's better than a green apron. Now he moved onto his hair. Something easy-going, carefree. He easily combed his fingers through, pushing his hair back. It wasn't too crazy, but it wasn't too neat. He rubbed a small amount of gel onto his fingers and did the same motion, just to make sure it would stay and not get all out of sorts. That was easier than he thought. But it didn't look quite complete.

Looking in the mirror, he couldn't figure out what was missing. He looked fine, in his opinion. Pretty good, actually. But it wasn't perfect. Not wanting to put too much thought into it, Luhan decided to just leave it alone and claim himself finished.

Now onto the hard part. Mental preparation. Their was about two and half hours left until 4 o'clock, but he also had to leave a few minutes earlier so he would get there on time. The festival wasn't going to be held too far away, which meant Luhan could walk. Also, he wouldn't want to risk anything bad happening to himself like earlier. Taking a walk wouldn't hurt, anyway.

Luhan plopped down on the couch and let the silence sink in. He's almost made it. Him and Sehun weren't strangers anymore, at least, but Luhan wasn't satisfied with that. All this risk taking wasn't to just end up being friends. And Luhan wasn't sure how to make it end the way he wanted. All he could do was go with the flow and hope things worked themselves out. That meant no plan. Just winging it and hoping for good luck.

Time kept ticking and there was soon an hour left. The only conflict Luhan faced was if he should arrive early, or little late at the most. If he came early, would Sehun think he'd been thinking about this for a while? No. Natural and not obsessed. But if he came late, he might think Luhan didn't care enough.

Luhan cursed love for being so complicated and settled for just being there right on time. That wouldn't hurt, right? Just come the time he gave and nothing will go wrong.

Luhan hated that about himself. He worried too much. He always questioned everything. He couldn't just let anything be. And he wasn't sure why, it's just how he's been his whole life. He wasn't going to let that stop him, Luhan was going to focus on the main picture. He stopped to think about that for a second. Can you actually believe this was happening? Was Luhan really going to be meeting with Sehun in public, around other people, in real life??? He was actually going to be acknowledged by someone he only met a couple days ago, but has aleady taken over his life. Everything that has happened since Monday was a complete blur, yet somehow he remeber every detail of their conversation. Luhan smiled to himself in remembrance.

Almost forgetting, he shot up and realized he left the flowers at the flower shop (his life could of almost ended if he'd forgotten again). Luhan carefully raced out the door, keeping caution as to not make a mess of his appearance. Once he reached the flower shop, he entered and greeted his female co-worker who had agreed to take over his shift. She knew all too well about Luhan's plans and the reasons behind his doings, so she happily offered to take his spot. After getting the flowers, and making sure to not ruin the condition even the slightest, he exited with a "good luck!" from his co-worker and replied with a determined "thank you". Luhan walked back home slower than he came, for once not having his mind filled with worries.

Time ticked by a little further and soon it was at 25 minutes. He chose to leave at 15 minutes till, which gave him 10 minutes of waiting and anticipating and being a nervous wreck. But he was still excited. He was going to be seeing Sehun for the second time and Luhan prayed he wouldn't just leave. What would be the point of meeting by the festival if they weren't going to go and enjoy it? They could of just met at the park, but they didn't. Luhan didn't want to get his hopes up, but the boy can dream.

So, he counted down the minutes and readied himself for part two of his mission. Five minutes left. Should he just leave now and get an early start? Luhan was getting more and more stressed over everything trivial. This needed to go smoothly and flawlessly.

Luhan decided to pretend like it was a normal day of meeting up with a friend or something. I mean, Sehun was a friend, wasn't he?

With that thought in mind, Luhan went for it and grabbed the flowers. He left his house and locked the door, breathing deeply to calm his nerves. Now matter how much Luhan tried to convince himself this wasn't anything to make a big deal of, his nerves never seemed to go away.

With extreme caution and carefulness of the flowers, he started heading towards where the festival was going to be held. He kept his attention on the flowers to make sure they wouldn't get damaged or in any condition less than perfect.

Half way there. Luhan was starting to look forward to this more and more. His nervousness was beginning to die down, but it still remained nonetheless. He could see the tall rides in the distance and could only imagine himself riding them with Sehun. He couldn't help but get more excited for his date (which it wasn't).

Three-fourths of the way there and the traffic was starting to build up. Luhan checked his watch and there was about 5 minutes until the festival was going to be open. Perfect timing, Luhan thought. And it was a good thing he decided to walk.

The entrance was almost visible from afar, and from the looks of it, Sehun hadn't arrived yet. Oh no. Luhan was not going to be the one to arrive first. Getting there early was another sign of being obsessed and Luhan's number one rule was to not be obsessed. Luhan slowed his pace and checked his hands to make sure he actually did have the flowers with him this time. At least one thing was going right.

The cars were lining up and filling in every parking spot available, leaving the streets loud and crowded with waiting people. This must of been something really popular, but Luhan never really cared too much about these sort of things. He knew there was always some annual summer festival thing, but he never bothered to actually go. Today was going to be the day of many firsts.

There was 2 minutes until 4 o'clock and Luhan slowly approached with uncertainty. What if Sehun doesn't even show up? What if he forgets and Luhan is left standing there like an idiot? What if all this was just some sick prank to humiliate Luhan? Now Luhan's thoughts were starting to go in the wrong direction again. Only positive thoughts, Luhan told him himself. Sehun wasn't that kind of person.

Luhan came to the corner and slowed his pace even more. He looked around with 1 minute to go and couldn't spot who he was looking for. There were too many cars to be able to clearly see anything near the entrance, which meant Luhan would have to get closer to know if Sehun was anywhere to be found. He gulped and tried to stabilize his breathing as he crossed the street between cars waiting for the line to move.

He made it to the sidewalk and desperately looked around once again. Words couldn't explain how relieved Luhan felt when he finally saw the boy sitting against a tree near the entrance. He felt a rush of happiness and he couldn't keep his eyes off him. Sehun was wearing a light colored shirt with the sleeves folded up just a little, and jeans that stopped above his ankles. Luhan felt like throwing himself down a well. How was he supposed to make Sehun drool when he was the one drooling?

Sehun was looking down at his phone. Luhan looked at his watch to find it was exactly 4 o'clock. Things were finally starting to go smoothly. He smiled to himself and made his way towards the boy.

As Luhan approached him, Sehun still didn't notice him coming closer. Luhan stopped a few feet away, the flowers in his right hand. "Sehun?"

The boy looked up, surprised, and smiled at Luhan. "Hey. I thought you wouldn't make it." Yeah right, Luhan thought. Sehun stood up and brushed himself off. Luhan smiled back.

"Nope, and I didn't forget the flowers this time, either." Natural, Luhan, natural. He lifted the flowers a little bit to show he brought them.

"Ahh, I see," Sehun carefully took the flowers in his hands and observed the tag, "my mother?"

"She seemed like she wanted to.. resolve your guys' "family issues", Luhan used air quotes. Sehun's exppression changed.

"Oh," he sighed and looked back at Luhan. "You know, she's done this before. She expects me to forgive her with these little gifts she sends; that doesn't change anything, though." Luhan quietly listened. "I'm just not ready to forgive her right now," Sehun finished. She must of done something really terrible for Sehun to be this way towards her.  She seemed like a nice woman whenever Luhan met her in the flower shop, but he wasn't one judge. She was Sehun's mother, after all. It was their business, so Luhan decided to stay out of it.

Luhan didn't know how to respond, so he just nodded to show he understood. Sehun laughed for the sake of comic relief and returned his focus to the boy in front of him, "sorry. Anyway, thanks for the delivery. Now, do you wanna have some real fun?"

Luhan laughed at the boy's enthusiasm. He made a mental note to thank God later for Sehun not just walking away afterwards and technically asking him on a 'date'. Isn't this what two people do on a date? They go to fairs and stuff, go on the rides together, eat icecream. He didn't have to think too hard about his answer. Luhan playfully narrowed his eyes, "let's do this."

Both boys headed to the entrance, but Sehun paused a second before going through. "What do I do about the flowers? I can't just carry them around everywhere."

Luhan shrugged, "is there somwhere you can put them to pick up later?"

Sehun looked around for any possible place and half-ran to a certain area to keep them safe. He came back to Luhan's side and they both entered the festival. Luhan couldn't of been more happier to be on what seemed like an actual date with Sehun. And by the looks of it, niether could Sehun, but vice versa. In Luhan's opinion, Sehun seemed to be quite the expert when it came to these festival type of things.

Luhan had no idea what was where, so he let Sehun lead. Apparently he came these festivals every year.

For the first 45 minutes to an hour, they just walked around and looked at different stands; eating little things they offered and looking at the tiny trinkets for sale. Luhan didn't bring any money, and he refused to let Sehun spend any money on him, even though he offered. Sehun bought a bag of cotton candy for them both to share while they took a short sitting break. Instead of just sitting on a bench, Sehun excitedly came up with an idea, "hey, let's go on the ferris wheel!" It was pretty close and Luhan had never been on one.

He wasn't really sure he ever wanted to ride one considering how high it went. Luhan and heights did not mix well and he was getting nervous just thinking about. But Sehun suggested it, and he seemed pretty excited, too. How could Luhan turn him down?

Luhan hesitantly answered, "s-sure." Sehun smiled and happily lead Luhan towards the ferris wheel to wait in line. A large amount of people came out through the designated exit and the next group were let through to board the cars of the ride. Both boys had to wait their turn and Luhan was getting more and more anxious. He tried his best to hide it so Sehun wouldn't notice. The last thing he wanted was to miss his one opportunity to be able to be alone with the boy.

"I love ferris wheels," Sehun spoke up. Luhan couldn't agree so he remained silent. "Have you ever ridden one?"

Luhan shook his head and replied simply, "no".

"Really? Then allow me to accompany you on soon-to-be one of the most amazing experiences of your life." Luhan just wanted to shribble up into a tiny ball. He was being faced with different conflicts, and he couldn't just back out. And Luhan couldn't deny how cute Sehun was acting; all excited and such. Luhan had to do this and take a risk. Now matter how dangerous ferris wheels could be.

Their turn soon arrived and Luhan followed behind Sehun and into the car. Stay calm, Luhan reminded himself. As they got in and closed the door behind them, the surrounding windows were starting to make him feel lightheaded. Luhan just needed to sit down and not looout the windows. Just keep looking down and it'll be over before you know it.

Luhan sat down across from Sehun and waited for the ride to begin. After a few seconds, Luhan could feel the ferris wheel start to turn and his breathing paused. He kept his eyes on the floor and apparently Sehun could notice how tense he looked.

"Are you okay?"

Luhan felt panicky and looked up at Sehun with semi-wide eyes. "Huh? Oh, um, yeah. I'm just... not really fond of heights." He shifted his eyes back to the ground, but continued to feel Sehun's concerned gaze on him.

The car suddenly rocked a little and Luhan gasped and gripped onto the bar next to him. Sehun watched him and felt the need to comfort the boy. He impulsively got up and sat himself next to Luhan. "Don't worry," he tried to help, at least a little. He understood what Luhan meant when he said he "wasn't fond of heights". It wasn't just a simple disliking, it was an actual fear. Sehun could tell by the boy's actions that he was extremely uncomfortable with being so high in the air, and he was starting to feel guilty for pressuring him into riding the ferris wheel. If only he knew about his fear earlier...

Liking the boy for at least a couple months now, you'd think Sehun would be able to point out something as (supposedly) obvious as this. He scooted a little closer and placed his hand on the boy's shoulder. "I'll make sure nothing happens to you."

Luhan's heart swelled at his words and for a second he almost forgot about being afraid. He kept one hand on the bar and the other holding on to the edge of the seat. He didn't need to reply; the silence felt content between the both of them and for once, Luhan was actually glad to be on the ferris wheel.

Sehun decided to make the next move and reach for Luhan's free hand, taking it in his. Luhan couldn't even comprehend what was happening. Was Sehun really holding his hand? Luhan wasn't nearly as afraid as he was before. Something about Sehun being there with him made him feel safe. As he started feeling safer and more comfortable in Sehun's prescence, Luhan began to enjoy himself. He let himself relax with his hand in Sehun's and he couldn't get over the fact that this was actually happening. Now the questioning side of Luhan was back.

Does this mean Sehun likes him back? Is he just holding his hand out of pity? Does he know about Luhan's feelings and is just playing around? Luhan desperately hoped for the first option and reciprocatively held onto the boy's hand the same. Even if Sehun was just playing around, Luhan pretended to think otherwise and take advantage of the moment. He might as well savor it while he can.

"I used to ride this a lot," Sehun brought up. Luhan looked at him to continue. "I would come to this festival every year with my friends and we would spend all our money on dumb things. And then when we came home, our parents would yell at us for being so careless. We didn't care because it was always a lot of fun, y'know? It was our favorite thing to do." Sehun half-smiled at his memories while Luhan just stared. He loved the look in Sehun's eyes and mentally urged him to continue.

"Then one year, they added this ferris wheel. Everyone was excited about it, and the lines were, you have no idea how long they were. Once, I probably stood in line for, like, 4 hours, no joke." Luhan couldn't help but wonder why somebody would even wait that long in line for something as simple as this.

"But it wasn't just a simple 'few rounds and then your off'," he continued. Luhan swore he just read his mind. "Every time I rode this, especially with someone I found special, whenever it was over, things changed." Luhan didn't know what to think. Was Sehun referring to him? Were things going to change between them?? The boy remained silent and could only wish for the best.

"That's why I love this ferris wheel so much. It has a lot of meaning, you know?" Sehun shifted his eyes over to Luhan, who was already staring and admiring the way the boy reminisced. Sehun quietly laughed at his expression.

"That's why I wanted to bring you here, Luhan," Sehun added. Luhan didn't know what to do. He was frozen and the only thing that entered his mind were Sehun's words, but not even Luhan could fathom them properly. "That's why I wanted to bring you here." What does that even mean? Was Luhan considered special to Sehun? What was he even implying?

Luhan didn't know what to say, so he just listened. Sehun gripped Luhan's hand a little tighter, gaining the boy's full attention. He looked at Luhan in all seriousness, surprising the boy a little. He gave a small smile. What Sehun said next surprised Luhan the most.

"I really like you, Luhan."

Luhan's breath hitched and silence surrounded them. Did he just hear that correctly? Did Sehun just say what Luhan thought he did?

"Please say something."

Luhan was still trying to register Sehun's confession. He couldn't form any words and was having a hard time responding. Was he dreaming again?

"Um, I-I don't know what to say." This was all too sudden for Luhan.

But then it hit him. Sehun just confessed his feelings. Which were for him. He felt the same way and Luhan was crying on the inside. The can't be happening. It's too good to be true.

Sehun smiled at a stricken Luhan before the boy subconsciencely returned it. Luhan still couldn't believe this was happening, but words couldn't describe how he was feeling at that moment. He wanted to just go for it and say how he felt, as well, but he just couldn't. Luhan couldn't get himself to do it, no matter how much he wanted to.

The ferris wheel halted with a jerk and Luhan was partly surprised at himself for making it through the whole thing. Not disconnecting their hands, Sehun stood up first; Luhan following behind him. They opened the door and exited, leaving through the designated area.

"That wasn't too bad, right?" Sehun asked comfortingly, referring to how he acted in the beginning.

Luhan glanced at their hands and back up before replying, "no. It was a lot more fun than I thought it would be."

Sehun looked back at him, "that's good."

They've been at the festival for several hours now; walking around, going on rides and into little shops. They loosely but affectionately held onto each other's fingers as Luhan checked his watch. It was getting darker now and they were starting to get tired from running around everywhere all day.

"It's almost 8:30," Luhan informed as they slowed their pace to a calm stroll, side by side.

Sehun smiled, "it's almost time for the best part."

Luhan raised a brow, "really? What is it?" Sehun glanced next to him.

"You'll have to wait and see."

"Again with the secrets?" Luhan huffed. This was the second time Sehun tried to act all secretive, and Luhan wasn't going to let him get away with it.

"Trust me. It's definitely worth it." Well, maybe this once. "Follow me."

Luhan was going to follow the boy even if he didn't say anything, so he let Sehun lead him to wherever he wanted.

"We're almost there."

Luhan looked around, and they were still at the festival, just not quite in it. They were more on the outer parts of the area, secluded from the crowd. "Okay, we're here." Sehun sat down on the grass first, patting the spot next to him, motioning for Luhan to sit. The boy obliged and waited for what was going on exactly.

In front of them was a lake. With trees encircling it and bushes scattered around, they sat on the grass while the cool night breeze swept through. It was the perfect scenario, like in a movie. There was an open, clear view of the sky and from where they sat, thousands of stars could be seen. Not usually something you see in the city.

Luhan looked up and gazed, "wow. This is really beautiful."

Sehun followed the boy's actions, "it is, isn't it?"

The boys kept the peaceful silence, soaking it in as they lied down next to each other and watched the stars.

Minutes passed by until Sehun spoke up first. He seemed to be doing a lot of that lately. "You're the first person I've ever brought here." That sparked Luhan's attention.

"Really?" He didn't bother moving from his position on the ground.

"Yeah," Sehun paused. "I promised myself that the only person I would ever bring to this spot... would be someone I truly and deeply care about."

Luhan's heart had been a mess ever since the ferris wheel and this was not helping one bit. How was Sehun so good at this kind of stuff?

He blushed and tried to act natural. "Stop being so cheesy," Luhan replied, trying to bring a playful atmosphere to mask how desperate his heart was feeling.

Sehun turned to his side and propped his head up with his elbow. He half-smiled and lowly responded, "why? Are you embarrassed?" Luhan mentally cursed Sehun for making him feel this way. He wanted to just tell him to lie back down and not talk and just look at the stars because the only thing Luhan wanted to do was just take him in his hands and kiss him senseless but he couldn't. He just couldn't and Luhan was starting to feel anxious.

Luhan tried to ignore it and playfully scoffed. "You wish. You just love teasing me, don't you?"

"I do," he answered bluntly.

The silence continued from before and Luhan was thankful. That is, until Sehun broke it once again.

"Is it 9 o'clock yet?"

Luhan checked his watch. "Uh, it will be in 5, no, 4 minutes. Why?" What was so special about 9 o'clock?

"You'll have to see for yourself." Not again, Luhan mentally complained. Another secret?

Luhan noticed Sehun was starting to get antsy. He seemed anxious and nervous and Luhan had no idea what was going on. The boy seemed calm and collected just a few short minutes ago, so why the sudden change? Sehun sat up like he expected something and turned his head to face Luhan. "Here. Sit up," he ordered. Luhan sat up and crossed his legs as Sehun did. Sehun turned his body to face the boy, putting him in a state of confusion. It was kind of awkward, so Luhan turned his body to face Sehun, as well. Sehun smiled and fiddled with his own fingers.

He stared Luhan in the eyes and started to explain, what seemed to be to the boy, a warning of some sort. "Listen. A-As I told you earlier on the ferris wheel, I really do like you." Luhan blushed and bit back a smile. "Actually, I've liked you longer than just our meeting on Monday, and I just thought you should know."

Luhan was faced with inner conflict about whether he should explain his feelings, too. Anybody would think of this as the perfect opportunity, but in all honesty, Luhan was scared. This was such a big deal in his eyes and every time he heard Sehun confess, it didn't seem real. But Luhan had to overcome his fear for the sake of having the future he wanted. No opportunity would be as perfect as this. It was Luhan's chance, once again. So he went for it.

He smiled confidently. "I like you, too." Sehun perked up instantly at the boy's words. Luhan smiled at his reaction.

"R-Really?" Sehun questioned. "Did I just hear that correctly?"

Luhan scoffed, "well I'm not repeating what I said so don't count it."

Sehun's reaction was definitely more 'normal' than Luhan's,  but then again, what do you expect when Luhan was always a little mentally unstable?

A comfortable silence fell upon them again as Sehun played with Luhan's hands. Luhan noticed Sehun smile and tried to figure out what was going through his mind. And Luhan couldn't stop thinking about what the boy had said. Sehun had liked him for a while now, apparently, but it didn't really soak into his brain. It couldn't, actually. After all this time of assuming it was just a one-sided love, it had already been planted in Luhan's brain that that was the truth. Boy was he wrong.

After minutes of playing with fingers and humming to songs pointlessly, the first explosion of color erupted in the black sky. Both boys stopped what they were doing to watch.

Sehun smiled to himself contently. "Wasn't it worth the wait?"

Luhan hummed in response and kept watch, "definitely." After  watching for a while, he turned to Sehun, who was continued to admire the show. He looked in his eyes and watched the fireworks from there. So this is what Sehun meant...

Sehun finally caught the boy staring at him and returned the gaze. Luhan didn't bother looking away because it just felt right. This was a perfect moment. Everything around them was still and Luhan just wanted to stay in that moment forever. Nothing could bring them apart and Luhan was falling in love all over again.

Sehun's eyes softened and Luhan's heart was at it again. There was so much desire and just simply being next to each other wasn't enough for him. He hoped Sehun could read his mind again and lean him himself, but Luhan got the feeling that wasn't going to happen soon.

His heart was overruling his mind and soon, Luhan found himself leaning in. He placed his hand on the back of Sehun's neck to keep him from backing away as he completely went for it and pressed their lips together. After a few seconds, Sehun couldn't resist and his hand slowly found its place on the lower part of Luhan's back as he returned his motion and brought themselves closer together. Behind Luhan's closed eyes, the fireworks continued and he couldn't decide if they were real or imaginary. This was everything he dreamed it would be, and for once, he knew it was reality.

Sehun pulled away and removed his hands from Luhan's back, panting slightly as a small smirk grew on his face. He looked at Luhan to see his reaction.

Luhan brought his hands back and tried to stabilize his breathing before shifting his eyes over to Sehun. When both their eyes met, they couldn't help but laugh at the whole situation.

Luhan already missed the way it felt whenever he kissed Sehun, and he could only hope for more in the future. They finished watching fireworks together for the rest of the night.

After a while, Luhan remembered to check the time. His eyes widened at what his watch read. "It's almost 10:30." He had work tomorrow that he most definitely could not be late for and it was already getting pretty late. Luhan watched Sehun for any type of reaction. "We should probably get going." Luhan stood up first, suggesting that they should really get going.

Once Sehun was standing, he automatically took Luhan's hands on his, lacing their fingers together. They walked at their own pace towards the exit of the festival, taking a few minutes longer than necessary to enjoy their time together just a little longer. When they reached the exit, Sehun offered to walk Luhan home, since, of course, it was too dark to go alone and being kidnapped was the last thing anybody wanted. Luhan insisted he'd be fine, but Sehun persistently wouldn't have no for an answer. As both boys were about to head towards Luhan's house, Sehun suddenly remembered about the flowers he had put aside to pick up later. He went to get them and returned to bring Luhan back to "safety".

Halfway through their walk, a certain question was itching in the back of Luhan's mind. "So, what does this make us then?"

Sehun paused for a second. "Well, to me, anyway, this technically was a date... so does that answer your question?"

Luhan smiled and nodded. He knew it was a date all along.

Minutes later, they finally arrived at Luhan's doorstep. They turned to face each other and Luhan was now a few inches taller than the boy since he was a step higher. Sehun loosely grabbed one of Luhan's hands in his free one and waited before saying their goodbyes.

"Don't worry, I'll still see you at work tomorrow," Luhan started.

"I know," Sehun replied. He then pulled out a single chrysanthemum and offered it Luhan. "For you, my love."

Luhan sworn that was the cheesiest thing someone had ever told him, but he still couldn't hold back his smile as he took the flower from him. "That was really cheesy," he pointed out.

Sehun counteracted, "hey, I'm trying to be romantic here."

Luhan laughed and returned his gaze from the flower to Sehun.

"Well I appreciate the effort."

It was time for Sehun to leave, and he left Luhan's doorstep with a smile and a wave. Before the boy could officially leave, Luhan called out behind him, "wait!"

Sehun turned around and Luhan came padding towards him. He waited for what Luhan was going to say, but instead of words, Luhan cupped the sides of Sehun's face and brought him down to forcefully meet the boy's lips. It was definitely a surprise to Sehun, but it felt just as amazing as the first time they kissed by the fireworks. Sehun reciprocated a little more roughly than the first time, showing Luhan he shouldn't be the only one initiating all the contact. He wrapped his arms around Luhan's waist to pull their bodies closer together. Luhan's hand found its way to the back of Sehun's neck as he went in to deepen the kiss. This was so much better than Luhan imagined and he just wished he could of done this sooner.

The last thing Luhan wanted to do was pull away for air, but he had to. He was starting to feel a little needy and suggested, "you know, it is pretty late. Do you want to sleep over?"

Sehun got the hint and smirked before making his way back to the door. "I'd love to."

A/N OMG THAT ENDING DAMN I WASNT EVEN EXPECTING THAT MYSELF I WAS SCREAMING TRUST ME

Like seriously what has gotten into me did I just imply some soon to be right there wow

You know, I actually wanted to make a bonus based off this, but Ive never written before and Im a little scared to, honestly. It would probably be really bad tbh but I guess you cant be certain unless you try.

Anyway, yeah, thank you for reading! Even though each chapter was really long! I think I did a good job on this, though.

Please let me know what you think; comments/feedback are very much appreciated!

Chapter 2: OMG THAT ENDING DAMN I WASNT EXPECTING IT EITHER IM SCREAMING TRUST ME OMFG IM SO EXCITED TO RED THE SEQUEL
ah btw before anything else... you used could/would of a lot and i was just wondering, isnt it supposed to be could/would HAVE instead of OF? ........or.... anyway
but more importantly
THIS IS SO CUTE?????? I WOULDNT HAVE GUESSED FROM THE SUMMARY/DESCRIPTION THAT THIS WAS THE GEM I WOULD FIND???????? LITERALLY SO CUTE IM CRYING. luhan is actually allergic to flowers but works as a florist in a flower shop just to watch the cute barista at the coffee shop across from him???? and sehun is actually not even that fond of coffee but works as a barista in a coffee shop just to watch the cute florist from the flower shop across from him????
THAT FIRST DELIVERY WAS SUCH AN EMBARRASSMENT OMG LUHAN I LITERALLY FACE-PALMED BUT AT THE SAME TIME. JUST COULDNT BE BOTHERED TO THINK IT WAS STUPID WHEN IT LED TO SUCH A GOOD THING
the way you wrote luhan into this overly positive but somehow anxious haracter is perf because OF COURSE HE ISNT PERFECT and everything from feeling hopeful that one morning to convincing himself he can go deliver those flowers to that rushed suggestion of what would be a date to his getting ready for the date to his afraid of being too early or too late to his fear of heights to how he coulsnt confess his feelungs back right away to him lEANING IN FIRST FOR THE KISS TO INITIATING THAT LAST KISS TOO omg im so needy
ALL IM SAYING IS HOW COULD SEHUN NOT LIKE HIM IF HES LIKE THIS OMF
ah so nice. im so excited that they wont have to be watching each other from across the streets as strangers anymore, but as bOYFRIENDS AH SQUEALSSSSSS
