Chanyeol POV

Park Chanyeol absentmindedly touches the lid of the warm coffee cup neatly placed on his desk while taking a quick glance on the familiar orange post-it note pasted on the cup's body. Overly familiar actually- as it has been over a year now since his 2nd year in the university when a stray cup of espresso was put on top of his chair greeting his senses with an addicting aroma of fresh brew plus a cute handwritten smiley gracing the cylindrical portion of the cup. Like that of a coach's cue, he turned his head to his left where he was greeted with a pair of soft brown eyes and a shy smile from nicely curved lips. Chanyeol, as if perfected through a lot of practice, flashed his signature smile together with a nod to the boy who is painfully cute not to notice. This is his gesture of thanks to this 'someone' who diligently graces his morning in class with an espresso. As to why Byun Baekhyun does this 'morning routine', he had no idea. Or does he?

 Baekhyun POV

He can always feel his presence as if something's tickling his most sensitive muscles. He shot his head up as he felt him walk through the door of their classroom together with the charismatic tanned boy Kim Jongin and poker faced Oh Sehun. His eyes followed every movement of his limbs and the sway of his arms as he struts his way to the chair beside his. Yes, that chair who has been a living testament that witnessed how he shakily puts a cup of espresso every morning while the owner has not yet arrived; how he carefully writes a smiley note before pasting it on the cup; and how his whole being shivers even at the mere mention of his name - Park Chanyeol. No one will ever be mistaken that he is head over heels in love with Park Chanyeol- from the way his eyes sparkle and his lips smile all out whenever his eyes lay on the guy.

It has been a year now since they have been blockmates with him in that university. Over a year also that he's been doing his 'morning routine' in their 8 AM class; and also more than a year now of one-sided and unrequited feeling.

Baekhyun eagerly watches Chanyeol lazily sliding his long fingers to the rim of the coffee cup as he settles in his chair. More than that, he also eagerly waits for the smile and nod to come from the guy as a manner of thanks for his morning offertory. Not waiting for more than 30 seconds since he observes Chanyeol read the post-it note, he saw him turn his head to him and Baekhyun received the best smile ever and a soft murmur of thanks from the guy he adores extremely. Baekhyun had a difficult time calming his nerves rioting inside his body. He knows he is juat delusional to the brink point of being crazy for being overly overwhelmed for just an obligatory smile from Chanyeol.Yes, even Baekhyun knows that the way Chanyeol smiles and says thanks is an automatic, normal reaction from the receiver to the giver. But no matter what, Baekhyun is contented having that if it's the only thing that keeps him forget how unloved and drained he has always felt at home.

'I love you Park Chanyeol. How can you look at me the same way I look at you?'
