Who Are You? (Jessica + ____) Guess with Jessica! Who is this mystery woman?

Description

I actually wrote this a long time ago... 2 years almost. But I didn't realize that I never posted this here.

Is it TaengSic? YulSic? or JeTi? Who is this woman Jessica has a crush on! LOL

Is a name really just but a name? How important is it?

WHO ARE YOU

“Venti Caramel Macchiato for Batman,” the Starbucks barista said. From the corner of Jessica’s eyes, she was able to catch a glimpse of a girl that she fancied the moment the latter walked in, heading towards the counter as she was seated in the middle of the lobby.

Such gait.

Such poise.

Where did she learn to hold herself together like this? It was as though the world was her runway ramp, as she never hid her swaying hips and alluring aura.

“Wow,” was a word that couldn’t be contained within Jessica’s lips. Was this girl a model? The blonde couldn’t really depict it. Sure, she had a good height. Although she had an amazing catwalk, her height didn’t make the cut to be a ramp model. At least in Jessica’s opinion, it wasn’t. But hey, who was Jessica to complain? She was on the shorter side anyway; so this girl was a good match.

A smile crept on Jessica’s face as she waited for the barista to call the girl’s name. This was the good thing about waiting for her cousin to get off work. On her first day to coming here from the university, she already saw this gorgeous woman. How could she pass a perfect opportunity to know this or any other girl’s name for that matter slip by? She was graced upon such opportunity so there was nothing wrong to taking advantage of it, right?

Wait. Did the barista just call ‘Batman’… then why was she grabbing the cup?! Batman?! Jessica looked around. There must be some other person, right? This girl should have a name! But no. No one was heading towards the counter. Jessica looked back over her shoulder; none of the workers were working on any order. So she was really Batman?

Should she know her as Batman?

When Jessica looked back at the girl, she was already heading towards the door. The way those hips swayed. Just. Wow.

Batman, huh?

Glued on the same spot as yesterday, Jessica’s laptop was in front of her, she couldn’t help but notice the same girl walking in. There was something about this girl that made her walking so damn attractive. It wasn’t perfect, but it really caught her eyes. Was it her pretty face that gave more bonus points? Actually, her facial features were soft; there was something about her that gave off a welcoming feeling. For a quick second, their eyes met as the girl waited for her order, and obviously, Jessica‘s gawking at the girl. Yes. Those eyes that seemed like it saw through Jessica’s very soul, that of course, in normal circumstances, would make her automatically look away but not right now. The shy smile that the girl gave Jessica washed those feelings away. One quick second, and yet, Jessica couldn’t help but feel as though she had more.

“Venti Caramel Latte for Taeyeon,” Jessica’s cousin called. Of course, the girl standing by the counter just grabbed the coffee.

Taeyeon? Was that her name?

Taeyeon.

Pretty. Just like her.

~~~
How would Jessica make a move? Well, maybe she should greet her? It wouldn’t be bad. This was the third day she had seen the girl, always at the same time.
If she really wanted to talk to Taeyeon, she should make her move now before she grabs her coffee and leaves.
You can do this Jessica. You can get anyone you want. Have confidence in yourself!
After much self-convincing, she decided to stand up from where she was and headed toward Taeyeon.
“Hi, you’re a regular, right?”
Taeyeon smiled softly and nodded. “Yes.” As she smiled at her, Taeyeon’s eyes captivated Jessica. It gave off this certain aura that disabled Jessica to look away.
“I see you here every day.”
“Oh,” was the only thing the girl said.
“I love your Ray Ban Wayfarer.” Jessica pointed at the pair of sunglasses that was laid on the table. “Though I noticed yours is a limited edition.”
“Oh.” Taeyeon raised her hand, reaching for the pair of sunglasses that she placed on her head as it held her hair. “You can buy it at the mall downtown.”
“Venti Iced Latte for Yuri,” said one of the baristas.
“That’s me,” the girl said. “But if you really want limited edition sunglasses, try that mall out by the university.”
Wait. Didn’t the barista call out a ‘Yuri’?
“I… I thought your name’s Taeyeon?”
Without saying a word, the girl just grabbed her drink, smiled at Jessica and left the building.
What just happened?
~~~~~~~~

Sure enough, a couple of days had passed and the mysterious girl’s name changed from Hara to Samantha to Sooyoung to Spiderwoman to Freddie to The Boy From The Grudge, and yesterday, it was Sadako. The very same girl was being watched by the blonde, who was seated on the same spot wondering, who will she be today anyway?

Wanting to confirm the girl’s identity, Jessica mustered up the courage once again to talk to her. She stood up from where she was seated and started heading towards the girl, who was waiting in line.

“Hi,” Jessica smiled as she awkwardly gave a wave. “My name’s Jessica. We talked a couple of days ago.” Now that she said that, she realized how creepy it sounded. Was she really that into this girl to even introduce herself twice? Well who could blame her though? The girl in front of her had eyes so mesmerizing, Jessica didn’t know how to look away. Oh, and she wouldn’t want to get started on the girl’s body. Wow. The proportions were just perfect!

“Hello,” she greeted with a smile. There really was a certain charm in this girl’s smile. Was it because of those eyes she had? “You’re from the other day.” Jessica couldn’t contain herself so she grinned. She was glad that the mysterious girl remembered her.

“That’s me. Jessica.”

“I see. Nice to meet you.”

After that, the girl didn’t talk anymore. Wouldn’t it be common courtesy to give out her name as well? Jessica waited for it, but to no avail. “And you are?”

The girl’s smile softened as she brushed her bangs to the side. “I… I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I don’t give my name to strangers.”

“Oh.” Jessica was taken aback. Sure she noticed that the girl never really gave her name to the barista, but she thought that it was simply for fun. Who would seriously say their name’s Batman? Spiderwoman? Sadako? So was it to protect the girl’s identity?

The curiosity within Jessica grew bigger. Wasn’t this pretty interesting?

“Next, please!” The barista said, looking at the mysterious girl. “Oh! Regular! You’re back like always. What’s it this time?”

Regular? So even Yoona didn’t know who this girl was?

“Oh Jessica, you know her?”

The girl shifted her gaze to Jessica and then asked, “Does everyone know you? You like to give your name away huh?” The unnamed girl asked.

“Oh no! No! No! You got it wrong.” Jessica pointed at Yoona. “She’s my cousin.” Why was there a need to clear the misunderstanding anyway? She was still just a stranger - a hot stranger at that.

“I hope my cousin’s not bugging you.” Yoona looked at the girl apologetically.

She shook her head and said, “Not at all. She was just being friendly.”

“Oh, good. So what are we having today?”

“My fourth?”

Huh? Was there a coffee called ‘my fourth’ or anything like that? Did Jessica misheard?

“Fourth it is.” Yoona wrote on the transparent cup the order. She then looked at the girl once again and asked, “What’s your name today?”

“Uhmm… what’s cool?”

Yoona laughed and said, “Vegeta.” The girl simply nodded and so Yoona wrote the name on the cup. Was her cousin also in this stupid game? Vegeta? Really? Why not Goku since he was the lead? But then again, Vegeta was somewhat like Jessica in a way. She was never against his character; in fact, she liked him.

“Vegeta’s my favorite character actually.” At least they have something to talk about.

“I like him too. He’s so cold and power hungry, and yet he’s really caring. Such a misunderstood character.”

“I know right? People think his cold exterior automatically makes him the villain.”

“Well, he was a villain.”

“Hey guys, before you actually start chatting about Dragon Ball, why don’t you pay for your coffee first?” Yoona joked.

Jessica hurriedly fished for money in her pocket and handed it to Yoona. She wouldn’t let this day end without her knowing this girl’s name. “My treat.”

“No. It’s fine.”

“It’s already paid for.”

“I can’t just accept that.”

“Buy me coffee tomorrow?” Well, the mysterious girl couldn’t do anything about it now since it was paid for.

Maybe today was the day the blonde would get to know the stranger better. She then reached for the change; her eyes were still on the other girl, waiting for a reply.

The girl simply nodded as she started to walk towards the pick-up counter.

“So maybe by then I wouldn’t be a stranger anymore, Vegeta.”

Simply looking back, Jessica could see that faint smile on the girl’s face. Maybe she made a better impression today? Good! So, what should she do tomorrow?

~~~~~~~~
Finding out from her cousin that the mysterious girl had five favorite drinks, which she labeled as My First, My Second, My Third, My Fourth, and My Fifth. She tried asking Yoona for more information about the girl, but no one in Starbucks really knew her. Well, unless for the girl being a regular for three years was considered useful information, then that was her only lead.
Heading out from the café’s restroom, she could see the girl already standing by the pick-up counter. What? Why was she five minutes early today? Jessica always caught the girl entering the café between 3:20PM to 3:25PM. Never was she a minute early nor a minute late. Aside from today that was.
“Two Venti Iced Carmel Latter for Jessica!”
Jessica? They called her?
She walked closer to the counter – to where the girl was. “So, you planned to steal my name today?”
The girl giggled. “Why not? It’s a pretty name.”
“So,” Jessica grinned. “Since you stole my name, you should give me yours.”
“Here’s your coffee.”
Jessica took it from her. “So you’ll drink it with me, right?”
“I… I don’t really talk to strangers.” She bit her lip.
“You know my name though. Jung Jessica. Currently attending Korea University. I’m twenty-two years old.” Jessica then pointed with her thumb over her shoulder. “So I’m not a stranger anymore. Drink with me?”
The girl sighed in defeat and slowly nodded.
~~~~~~~~~

“So, why don’t you like telling people your name?” Jessica asked the girl, who was supposed to be Mustache Meow, as she was sipping her starbucks iced coffee.

After sitting her drink on the table in front of them, Mustache Meow then said, “I don’t see the point of people knowing my name.”

“So people just know you for random names?”

“Most of them,” she shrugged, “Is there a point of them knowing my name when I don’t see the importance of their presence? Or mine in their lives?”

Jessica was left speechless. Who would even think that?

Then again, this girl was really something. And that was the reason why she grew interested in the first place.

“Do you think by giving out your name to someone, your importance to them grows?”

The blonde simply shrugged. “I don’t really see the importance in anything. It’s just customary to give your name to someone first.”

“For a small talk or two? Then you’ll be forgotten, right?” She leaned forward, grabbing her coffee from the table, taking a quick sip from it.

That made Jessica think. She did make a point, weird enough. Most of the people she introduced herself to probably forgot about her. So why bother introducing, right? “I see.” With that, their conversation then shifted to their weird professors, or at least the ones that were interesting enough to be mentioned to someone.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After the small chat yesterday, Jessica sat in the café, waiting for her new nameless friend. She then saw the familiar face, entering the cafe and so her smile brighten.
“Hi!” Jessica bid, waving at the other girl. “What’s your name today?”
The girl bit her lips, looked up, taking a moment to think to herself. “Maybe,” she started and sat in front of Jessica. “Maybe I’ll be Franz, Franzi today?” She waited for the blonde’s reply. “What do you think?”
“I like it.” She nodded, showing her approval of the girl’s choice. “Unique.”
Franzi then flashed her smile, reaching her eyes, creating crescents. “Good! I like it, too.” She then excused herself to order her coffee, which Jessica got from the counter when it was ready.
“How was your day?” with that, their conversation went from how their days were, to their favorite food, to anything that caught their interest. Strange enough, these strangers kept the conversation flowing, making each other feel comfortable, as though as they were close friends.
“I need to go,” the girl said as she looked at her watch. “I’ll really be in trouble if I’m late.”
“I’ll see you tomorrow?” Jessica asked, to which the girl nodded and bid her farewell.
A couple of days had passed, and with the same routine, the two chatted and got to know each other better. They had sips of coffee and sometimes, they even had desserts. Everyday, for about thirty minutes, the two of them simply talked about things that related to each other and during these times, the girl’s name turned from Franzi to Ted to Emma to Eunjung to Alexa to Peter Parker to Iori to Naruto to Tony Stark to Natasha Romanoff. Today, she introduced herself as The Hulk.
“So, Hulk, how did you do on your accounting quiz?”
The girl sighed, as she looked at the binder that was set on the table. “I think I did horribly.” She then grabbed the binder, flipping through her notes. Jessica caught a glimpse of the notes that were written both in Hangul and English. “I made some outline the other day too. I’m really terrible in Accounting.”
“Isn’t Hulk supposed to be a genius?” The blonde wore a cheeky grin. “Well, lucky for you, I’m good in that subject. Aced it last semester. So---”
The Hulk’s eyes lit up as she said, not letting Jessica finish her words, “Tutor me!”
Acting cool, Jessica playfully shrugged. “Sure, I have time anyway.”
After the blonde explained to the girl, who was now apparently, Tiffany, how to solve the Rate of Interest, she then asked, “So do you understand it now?”
Tiffany then nodded. “It’s really easy. I hope you’re my professor.”
“Well, if I was your professor, I’ll need your name.”
The mysterious girl then giggled. “Tiffany,” she said as she flashed her adorable smile, reaching her eyes.
“Sure, Tiffany. I get that you don’t wanna give your name still.” Jessica playfully pouted, pretending to be upset about things. “I guess I’m still insignificant...” she mumbled.
“No, really.” Tiffany waved her hand in front of her. She then gathered her things that scattered on the table and placed them in her tote bag. She stood from the chair, “My name’s Tiffany, stranger.”
---------------------------------
I know it's short and not 'romantic' but my aim wasn't really to make you guys cringe coz of cheese or anything like that. xD I just really thought this story was cute in a sense.
I tagged it 'JeTi' just to give it away. I don't want to trick you guys to reading a pairing you might not enjoy. haha
And with the name giving to the barista in starbucks, I do that. LMAO! I usually say im 'Batman' or something. xD LOLOL xD It's not like they really care~ lol
