Prologue

He fell. Tumbling backwards. His frail bony legs buckling under the pressure of his limp weight. Feeling the tug down, Sehun spun, gazing at Luhan with vast, consternation filled eyes as he plummeted towards the beaten wooded stage floor. "Luhan?!" He exclaimed, his voice cracking, Sehun's arms flying out to wrap around the frail boys frame, in fear that if he dropped, Luhan would just shatter.

Like a glass. A beautiful crafted glass, for the past months parts of him chipping away at him. His humanity, health and sanity eroding away. "Luhan, what is it?" Sehun questioned frantically as he lowered Luhan towards the floor. "What's wrong! Hyung, tell me!" His begs where screamed, tears rolling down Sehun's flushed cheeks to land against Luhan's soft, mousey brown hair, free strands sticking to the sides of the sunken looking boys face. His once perfect plump rosy cheeks now a ghostly white, all the flushed coloration Sehun remembered melted away, like a single scoop vanilla ice-cream thawing away in the bright rays of warm summer sun.

He kept hacking. Sehun glanced up and glared around, his eyes wet and squinted with fury. "What are you all doing?! Get some help!"

"Somebody call a doctor!" A young girl yelled as she darted off the stage, Sehun's eyes following her as she ran.

"Se...." Luhan breathed with a croup, working through the agonising pain of talking even with the constriction in his throat and lack of oxygen in his lungs. Sehun snapped his eyes down, looking deep into the chocolate swirls, the glimmer he loved still slightly visibly in the corner of his eyes. But it was dying, fading away, like a star burning out in the sky, Luhan's distinctive twinkle was vanishing into the dark brown of his iris'. "I'm so... s-sorry, Sehun."

"Don't say that!" Sehun balled, lifting Luhan's head up to tuck it into the crook of his neck, Sehun burying his tear soaked face into his spluttering lovers shoulder.

"I'm... I'm dying, Sehun," he managed, closing his eyes, concentrating on breathing, a task that was once done without a second thought, something that now took all his remaining, dwindling energy.

Luhan was shushed, Sehun's deep, weary voice rumbling in Luhan's ear as he was rocked back and forth, their bodies swaying together as one. "Tell our story, Sehun. Promise me." Luhan waited for Sehun to speak, but he didn't utter a word, not even a syllable. The only sounds that could be hear where Sehun's sobs, Luhan's coughing and the roar of the audiences applaud from the other side of the thick red curtain, them oblivious to what was unfolding behind drawn curtains.

A standing ovation. Every single person. All 500 of them. This was Luhan's dream. "Promise me, Sehun. Write our story, then... I will be with you." Another wheezing fit conquered Luhan, slowly raising his thin arm to his mouth, wiping away a spattering of red droplets from his dry, cracked lips with dry, scrawny finger tips, his nails chipped and brittle.

"Always?" Sehun whined, his usually strong tone breaking. Lifting Luhan's head to gaze into his eyes, watching as specs of sweat rolled down Luhan's temple and landed upon the fingers Sehun's was brushing against Luhan's chilled cheek, his fingers dipping with and rising as they glided over his distinctive bone and hollowed cheek.

With a weak bob of his head, the light; the distinctive twinkle in Luhan's eyes started to fade. "Goodbye, Se-Sehun. Don't miss me too much." And with one last weak, nervous chuckle Luhan's bright eye light vanished, the spotlight above flashing down upon Sehun, his arms securely wrapped around Luhan's limp frame. Nothing left in him. An empty shell. A shell Sehun clung to dearly.

"I started missing you as soon as you said goodbye."
