Let’s Play Pretend
Description
“I’ll agree on pretending to be your lover, but I have one condition,”
“What is it?”
“Don’t fall in love with me,”
It was a relationship forged by a contract, $3000 a month, no strings attached. Both can date whoever they want during the time period as long as both appeared whenever needed. It was a mutual relationship; one can appease his parents’ rage over him having flings while one can continue schooling and support his family.
“I’m telling you, Jongin, you made the wrong choice,”
“What do you mean? It’s not like this will hurt me. No one will know, no one at school, at least,”
“No, you’re wrong for choosing Do Kyungsoo. You’ll soon regret this,”
“Don’t worry about it. He only gave one condition and it’s not like it’s very hard to follow,”

Jongin frowns as his mother glares at him from behind the kitchen counter; his father doing the same across him. The three say nothing and simply glare at each other. Finally, Mrs. Kim opens . “You know very well why what you’re doing is wrong, Jongin. It’s unacceptable, especially for someone with your position,”
“Look, umma, it’s not like what I’m doing is illegal and-,”
“Do not talk back, Kim Jongin!” Jongin’s father shouts. His wife flinches but Mr. Kim doesn’t do anything and looks down on Jongin. “You have to get your act straight, Jongin. What you’re doing will not only hurt you in the future, it’ll tarnish our family’s reputation,”
Jongin finally loses his patience and ruffles his hair out of frustration. “Fine, fine, if I stop, will you stop nagging me?”
“Stopping isn’t enough, Jongin. You have to prove to us that you can commit yourself to one person – and one person only,” his mother says, walking towards her husband.
“Fine,”
