He has a vague memory of Youngjae dubbing the day they bickered in the grocery store, the one with newly baked cheesebread every morning as the day they first met, but truth to be told, Youngjae existed to him way before that.

Daehyun wasn’t one for details, actually far from it. He had the tendency to forget most things, important and unimportant alike; he did however remember the bright sun, the faint smell of spring, grass and pollen, a fatal mixture for allergic people like him. And like every Thursday he walked through the corridor leading to the music room for choir club but unlike any Thursday he had paused barely halfway outside a classroom because a boy was drumming a soft rhythm on the glass of the window with his fingers.

Somehow the random clattering had managed to attract his attention when everyone else seemed to only drift by.

Had he felt compelled to stop?

Forced to stop and study the boy with jet black hair by the window?

No, he didn’t think so.

Or maybe he had.

Maybe had his eyes been meant to turn that way...

He didn’t know the other as Youngjae back then.

But that didn’t stop a smile from tugging at his lips when he saw the younger tap his fingers closer and closer to the buzzing bee flying small circles on the glass, “Go, come on go—“ Daehyun could hear Youngjae say to himself as he continued to drum on the see-through surface. The bee whom followed the faint sound eventually reached the narrow opening by the windowsill and disappeared under open skies.

Youngjae with the sun reflecting in his eyes stared after his newfound friend with tiny wings.

And Daehyun’s smile had dropped right then…

The last time he was speechless…

he was looking at the world’s most beautiful person.

The last time he felt numb by the beat his heart never made…

he was looking at the world’s most beautiful person.

The last time…

and the last and the last and the last time before that,  Daehyun still only saw Youngjae.

I seem to never leave my fics alone and complete like they are but have to add a sequel in the other's pov haha

So well this is the continuation of 'The Next Time' in Daehyun's pov. Please do check the prequel to this out if you have come this far :)

I've started this one, but I'm not done yet. I just wanted the forword up before I forget about it and abandon it like a lot of other drafts I have in my folder. at least when it's up, I'll feel the need to finish it.

Thank you everyone who supported 'The Next Time', I know the ending might have seemed out of place (?) so I hope that the sequel will somehow justify Youngjae's forgiving heart :)
