"How do I say goodbye to what we had, the good times that made us laugh outweigh the bad, I thought we'd get to see forever, but forevers gone away - it's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday."

He held her tight in his embrace while waiting for her to give him an answer. As her tears slowly falls down from her soft cheeks, she pushed him away with a solemn expression. Knowing with that look, Wooyoung knew exactly that Jieun is hiding something from him, except he didn’t know what it was. As Jieun broke the hug, tears were flowing down. The pain was too much to handle and even in her condition, she couldn’t say or ask for anything else, but to suffer. She took a deep breath, and starts to speak,

“If I tell you the truth, will you still love me, Jang Wooyoung?”

“I will always love you Jieun-ah. Please, what is it that you’re hiding from me?” Wooyoung sadly replied. Inside, Jieun was very happy to hear those words but it also hurts her more. It was like thousands of sharp knives being stabbed into her heart. The worse thing was that she couldn’t breathe steadily. She felt like that there was a hole deep through from her chest. She wanted to reach out for her hand and lend it against her chest, where she was hurting the most, but to be strong in front of the person whom she loved, she couldn’t. She holds her grips tighter and tighter at every moment. Finally releasing it, Jieun wiped dried her tears and approached to Wooyoung. Tippy toeing, she lend her head to Wooyoung’s left shoulder,

“Jang Wooyoung, I love you.” She whispered into his ear. He could feel her warm breathing. All he wanted to do is bring her to his embrace again but he was afraid-afraid of losing this chance to convince to her-what secret she was hiding from him. He was feeling the same; His heart was aching but not as much as hers. Jieun then handed Wooyoung a notebook. He gave her a confusing look on his face but painful also. He was feeling weak to accept it, for it might be the last gift. Jieun pushed the book against his chest with a forceful smile, then slowly but fast, and walked away. Wooyoung watched as she disappeared from his sight and nowhere to be found.

Wooyoung was sitting on the sofa thinking deeply of what had just happened, depressingly. Suddenly the image of the notebook that Jieun last gave to him appeared again in his head. He held it up from the tea table, and placed it on the seat near him, turning his body to face the book too. On its cover, it said ‘Only Hope’. With the title that captured his eyes, he at last had the courage to flip to the next page. It written,

‘For my love, Jang Wooyoung.’
