a four-leaved clover to the lucky one
winter skies, snowflake eyeskai/sulli, 476w, fluff, this goes to maddie ♥
Jongin thinks he is too lucky to have Jinri at his side, and really, he doesn't need more luck.
He is lucky enough: he has Sehun, with Soojung he has a backup of a girlfriend (in case he wants one), and he does the things he wants: dancing, all day long. Really, he can't get luckier. But Jinri is like a clover for the one who is lucky. She is kind, funny, and actually an all-rounder – really, she can do anything – but Jongin thinks it's a bit too much in his perfect life. He didn't need her, or ask for her, nothing like that. She just…popped up as Soojung's best friend and told him that she'd really like to meet him since Soojung talked so often about him and he had said okay. And really, it was, is, and probably will be.
But why does he feel so… weird when she is here? Why doesn't he feel comfortable with her like he's with his noonas or with Soojung? And if he doesn't feel at least comfortable, why not just… hostile like he does when he sees some of his schoolmates? He really, really can't tell why. He can't even name the feeling he gets when he sees her – really, he can't. It's nasty, yet pleasant. Not something he'd like to experience every day (or maybe he wants to?), but something he really wants to experience more often than this time. It's like a paradox. Yes, this is what the feeling is. Paradox. Not in a positive way, but not in a negative way, either. Just… paradox.
"Don't you like me, oppa?" she asks one day, eyes big and curious.
"Wha-" He feels sudden warmth on his cheeks. He looks away, scratching his head. "It's not like that."
"What is it, then?"
He thinks he's going to go crazy because of the heat on his cheeks. "Ahh, how am I supposed to know?" he snaps. There is a silence before she starts laughing.
"What?" He turns to her. She looks beautiful when laughing, her eyes crinkled in the shape of the crescent moon.
"Soojung told me already, but you are cuter than you think!" she exclaims. Jongin just wants to hide his face in embarrassment or to disappear right now at this very place (with Jinri). He feels heat rising on his cheeks once again.
"So what," he says.
"Makes me fall in love with you more."
He feels so weird again, that one paradox feeling and something like a validation (and even accomplishment?) rising up in his chest.
"You-I-wha-" he says finally, flustered.
She laughs again. "Idiot," she replies and kisses him on his cheek. "I like you." And then, she leaves.
I love you too... I guess.
Jongin thinks he is too lucky to have Jinri at his side, and really, he doesn't need more.
a/n: this is taken from an episode in a kdrama. no, I'm just kidding, it's not. But feels like so. haha. I hope you like it Maddie, and Merry Christmas to you! ♥
