We had a fun time eating together. Turned out, Khunnie is really a sweet guy, not weird like my Channie best friend. For once, I really thought I didn’t think about DooJoon any more. Well WooYoung, you spoke too soon.

“Do you wanna go home now?”-I asked after we finished our dinner.

“No. You want?”-NichKhun was surprised.

“Of course not! I was afraid you have something to do better than hanging out with me.”-I shyly lowered my head as I said.

“Babo yah, I promised Chan I would spend this whole night with you. Don’t worry!”-he patted my head and we walked out the crowded streets. You know, Khun, you made me feel more pathetic.

“Where do you wanna go?”-he asked.

“Anywhere is ok. Besides, everywhere is beautiful on this Christmas night.”

“Hmm. Let’s see. I heard there is a exhibition of Christmas tree down the street. Do you wanna go?”

“Okay.”

“Let’s go.”-without warning, Khun just took my hand as we ran down the streets, passing all those people. I don’t know anymore Khun ah. Can I trust you? Can I give you my heart this year?

“You wanna meet me WooYoung?”-DooJoon walked out from his house, with a simple T-shirt and jeans, he looked so handsome.

“I … I wanna give you something..”-I hid the present behind my back. Heart beated like crazy, I thought I was about to faint.

“Ah..Okay. What?”

I was the one who fell for him first. DooJoon was my friends’ friend. We met through a birthday party when he came to invite me a drink. Since then I fell head over heels for him. Last Christmas, I  gathered all my courage ,wrapped him a present, with a note saying : “I love you” . DooJoon just smiled when he received my gifts while I was waiting for him to say something hopelessly.

“You know what WooYoung? Let’s have a date tomorrow.”-Yes. That’s all he had to say. I smiled like an idiot. Snow was falling hard. The scene is so beautiful. But you know what, happy ending wasn’t supposed to be for a prince and another prince.

The Christmas tree exhibition is full of people, taking pictures in front of the well-decorated trees. Lights shone all the place, and laughters filled the air.

“Come here WooYoung! I will take a picture for you ok?”-Khun offered and stood aside to take a picture. Shy as I was, I simply smiled and raised a V-sign.

“Ready? One, two three…Huh, WooYoung, why don’t you smile?”

Khun didn’t know I just see him, my ex-lover. I froze, literally, I don’t know what to do . My heart told me to walk forward, to talk to him. But then my mind told me not to.

“What’s wrong?”-Khun asked worriedly and he looked the way my eyes were staring.

Here he was. Yoon DooJoon. He noticed I was looking at him. But with that confused eyes, it seems like he didn’t recognize me. Well, it’s been a year. It doesn’t surprise me. Next to him was a beautiful girls, hands intertwined with his.  After a moment, he walked towards me and I felt like my heart stopped beating.

“You…are WooYoung right?”-he asked and the girl just nodded her head greeting me.

“Yes.”-I said with a fake smile. “I’m happy to see you again DooJoonie.”

“Oh it’s been a long time. Meet my new girlfriend.”-he said and pushed the girl .

“Nice to meet you.”-she shook my hand confusingly. She must have wondered who am I.

“I see you found a new boyfriend too.”-he just plainly commented.

Before I could say anything, Khun wrapped his arm around my shoulder. “Yes. Nice to meet you.”

I looked at him in surprise but Khun just blinked and smiled. I was freaked out so I just grabbed his hands said “goodbye” to DooJoon and walked straight ahead.

“I have fun tonight WooYoung ah.”-DooJoon said to me as we stood under the mistletoe.

“Me too.” He was too close. I could see how beautiful his features are. DooJoon leaned forward and he kissed me.

Tears streamed down my face even before I knew it. Pulling NichKhun behind me, I just kept running and running. Memories flooded back as I realized what a fool I’ve been back then . One year, I loved him for one year . One night, he loved me for just one night.

We stopped at  the river Han. From here I could still see the blinking light of the Christmas tree exhibition over there. I sat down and just cried like I have never cried before. I know if right then DooJoon said he still loved me I would still fall for him again.

Without looking up , I knew NichKhun had sat down next to me. “Don’t cry please.”-he said to me. I just kept crying, louder and louder. I felt like my heart exploded from crying. Just like that Christmas morning, one year ago.
