basically my headcannon of Miracles in December MV

Takotsubo cardiomyopathy is a type of non-ischemic cardiomyopathy in which there is a sudden temporary weakening of the myocardium (the muscle of the heart). Because this weakening can be triggered by emotional stress, such as the death of a loved one.

The condition is also known as broken heart syndrome.

Foreword

The cold air creeps up on Yifan as he drifts into consciousness. He flits his hands around in search for the elusive blanket and squints his eyes open. His lover is facing away from him, cocooned in their blanket, deep in slumber. The blonde moves closer to the younger and spoons him from behind. He takes in the faint scent of peaches and cream, the warmth radiating from him. Streaks of sun shine in through their window overlooking the busy streets of Seoul and reflect off of the elder’s blonde locks.

 

“Tao,” he whispers, “Baby, wake up.” Reluctantly, Zitao blinks open his eyes. Seeing his boyfriend, he smiles up at him despite his tiredness. The way the sun reflects off of the author’s hair makes it seem as though he has a halo. Tao giggles, my beautiful guardian angel. “What’s so funny?”

 

“Your hair,” he replies as he threads his fingers through the strands, “I can see your halo,”
