Chapter 4.
Melting that cold heart. The next morning, Hongbin walked to class with a dark aura surrounding him, resulting in many students at the school hallway fleeing from the sight of him, not wanting to get involved with Hongbin himself. Hongbin's eyes were darker than usual and his facial expression gave off a harsh warning that he was out to get anyone that dared to come any closer into his personal space.
Once he entered the noisy classroom of his, the class went silent, his classmates' eyes watching his every step with fear as Hongbin made his way to his seat and settled down. He sat in his chair, feeling restless with his hand fiddling with a sharp mechanical pencil as he yawned quietly, his face showing a clear lack of sleep. He stared at his empty table because damn, it looks so tempting to sleep on. He took out his black jacket and fold it up nicely into a neat folded pile of fabric and he rest his head against the soft jacket and closed his eyes -
"Hey Hongbinnie!"
Hongbin's eyes immediately open as anger and frustration boiled within him, causing him to grip his pencil tightly and he got ready to throw the pencil at the intruder when he realise that it was just Jaehwan hyung. Sighing, he held back his frustration by loosening his grip on the pencil slightly and reluctantly responded with a 'hmm' to the oblivious boy, who happily walk to his seat and took out a book from his bag to of course, not read but look at the pictures instead. When it was all quiet again, he let out a sigh of relief and placed his head against his jacket, sleep slowly overcoming him as he unconsciously snuggled into the jacket -
"Hey Hongbinnie!"
Hongbin growled to himself as he tighten his grip on the pencil, it was not even a minute since Jaehwan hyung greeted him, he thought angrily and just as he almost threw the sharp mechanical pencil at the person who dared to speak to him at the wrong time, especially when he finally managed to enter into his precious dreamland, he realised that it was Hakyeon hyung. He was lucky he managed to stop his actions just in time before he made the biggest regret of his life. Hakyeon is someone you do not want to bang your anger on and Hongbin unfortunately learnt it the hard way. As he once again reluctantly responded to Hakyeon with a 'hmm' with a grumpy and bored voice, he swore in his heart that the next person who greet him at the wrong time would suffer the sharpness of his mechanical pencil.
Hongbin waited for five minutes to make sure that no one would be coming over to greet him whatsoever and when he think that this is the end of his misery, he contently lean his head against his jacket and prepared to finally, enter his dreamland, he heard something that finally made him go past his line.
"Hey Hongbin - "
A smacking sound was heard throughout the classroom. Hongbin, not caring who was the one who greeted him with the same amount of cheerfulness as the last two idiots on his gloomy day, threw the sharp mechanical pencil at whoever it was. When Hongbin finally look up to see who is the culprit in ruining his day, he felt like he wanted to kill himself. There was Sanghyuk, standing in front of Hongbin, eyes full of shock and fingers touching over his forehead, in which lay the bruise Hongbin had made to see blood lingering on the tip of his fingers.
Hakyeon, who witnessed the whole scene, immediately rushed to Sanghyuk's side with a piece of tissue, placing it over the cut and demanding Sanghyuk to follow him to see the nurse immediately to treat that injury. Still in shock and frozen solid, Sanghyuk could only wordlessly follow Hakyeon out of the class. But before he walked out of the class, he glanced back at Hongbin, who was staring back at him, with hurt in his eyes as he turned back and follow the now silver-haired boy to find the nurse.
Hongbin just stood there, shock and guilt pounding within his heart as he watched the two figures leave the classroom. It was, unusually, painful and heartbreaking to see the hurt in the yellow-haired boy's eyes. He sigh in furstration as he sat back in his chair, fingers going through his hair as he buries his face between his elbows. Today was just not his day. His mind tortured him with the repeating images of Sanghyuk's hurtful glance at him and no matter how much he wants to get the images away from him, he couldn't.
"You should do something about this you know..."
Hongbin looked up to see Jaehwan staring at him with sadness in his eyes. He knew that Jaehwan was upset at his reckless action and he wants Hongbin to put it right again, but he is requesting Hongbin to do the impossible - Apologising. Knowing what Jaehwan was indirectly hinting at, he rolled his eyes and murmured a 'w
