"Goodbye, Hongbin hyung!"

 

   Hongbin rolled his eyes at the cheerful voice, belonging to the new student and packed his belongings as he sighed quietly to himself as he made his way to the school's entrance, dead tired from the noisy surroundings he had to be stuck with for the whole day. He walked down the hallway and ignored all stares and squeals from his followers, mainly girls, and went into the car driven by his servant. It was him and only him, like always, he said to himself as he stared out of the window, watching how groups of students walked out of the school, talking and giggling playfully to each other.

 

   How he wished he was one of them.

 

   Hongbin was never one to socialize with people. He was always silent and slightly awkward when surrounding with people. But he wasn't like that when he was young. He was a happy child when he was young. Easily sociable plus good-looking. Everyone wanted to make friends with him. It was only on his 10th birthday when his life changed completely.

 

   It was the day his mother passed away. From a car accident. She was rushing to fetch Hongbin home for his birthday and unfortunately crashed into another car. She didn't make it. He was always close to his mother than his father and she was his support, his happiness and her death caused him to lose all his cheerfulness and he came out to be silent and cold, colder than Leo himself. His father, instead of taking on the role of his only source of comfort, blame all his anger and sadness of the loss of his wife on his only son. Calling him 'useless' and 'stupid' was common for Lee Hongbin.

 

   At first, Hongbin was depressed and terrified by his father's actions and would always hide in his room when his father come back home from work, ready to put his anger all on him but his hiding attempts didn't work on the hurtful words his father used on him. It grew and took over his cheerful heart and turned into a stone. He, over the years, started to accept his father's words, believing he is useless and all, and caused him to lose all his hopes and dreams.

 

   It caused him to be alone.

 

  "Sir, we are here."

 

   Hongbin just blankly nodded and left the car with his bag slung loosely over one of his shoulders as he went straight to his home after taking off his shoes at the entrance.
