DEATHNOTE -From L-

June 2014 -WOOHYUN- 

It was supposed to be a good day. 

It was June the 9th.

Woohyun glared at the food in front of him. Thier managers were sitting beside them, trying to lift up the mood but failing miserably. 

Dongwoo was crying silently next to him, Sungyeol sat across from him, his eyes pink from crying most of the morning. Sunggyu's head was down, his fingers entwined in his hair. Sungjong was fussing his food around on his plate, making it one unappetizing lump. Hoya was leaning on the table, his eyes closed. 

"Woohyun." Someone snapped thier fingers under his nose. 

He jumped. "What?" 

Hyoan smiled sympathetically. "Are you okay?" 

Woohyun felt something farmiliar from the past 6 months boil under his skin.  He took a deep breath and flexed his fingers, calming down a bit. 

He finally nodded slightly. "I'm alright." 

Hyoan smiled again and patted his hand. "Sunggyu?" 

Sunggyu didn't move. 

"Sunggyu, Sunggyu-yah." 

Something in Woohyun snapped.

"Yah, don't bother him!" he screamed. 

All of them jerked up excpet for Sunggyu. 

"He's not going to answer okay? It's not the day to bother us. So leave us alone! It's the ninth of June. We're supposed to be happy. It's not the day for any of us. Go away." 

Everyone stared at Woohyun. He sat like a statue, his eyes wide and chest heaving. 

"Woo-" 

"Just leave!" Woohyun yelled. "Leave!" 

He lept up to his feet and ran to his bedroom. Regret was already settling in. Woohyun slammed the door behind him and leaned against it, trying to calm down his racing heart and boiling emotions. 

Since Myungsoo dissappeared, Woohyun found himself yelling out his emotions, screaming at everything. He felt bad for doing that but if he didn't he would have to surrender. 

And he wasn't going to surrender any time soon.

Woohyun stared at the trophy in his lap. They had just done thier first performance at Music Bank for thier comeback and somehow had won. It was thier first stage without Myungsoo.

Sure, a few times, they had done a stage without him because he was off doing something but they knew where he was and that he'll be home soon. 

"Woohyun, ready to go?" Dongwoo called. 

He nodded and stood up. They walked down the hall, towards the van. 

The six of them waited outside, far away as possible from the crowds, waiting for thier managers to pick them up. Woohyun saw something move out of the corner of his eye. 

There was a lot of movement around them, lots of fans to see them and other groups off but this movement caught his eye. 

Infinite knew each other very well. They lived together for a long time, they practiced together forever, they traveled the world together. Sometimes, Woohyun thought that he knew the others better than he did himself and the others knew him better than him did. 

Infinite were brothers. Woohyun felt as though he was the others' shadows sometimes, his movements mimicked the others. 

Since Myungsoo left, he, the shadow, had noone to follow, he was only a shadow of his doubts. For the first time in months, he moved again. 

"Myungsoo..." he breathed. 

"What's that?" Dongwoo asked from behind him. 

He looked back at Dongwoo. "Myungsoo, he's here..." 

"Where?" Dongwoo looked around. 

"Over..." Woohyun's eyes searched for that specific motion again. It disappeared. "He was here. I swear." 

Dongwoo looked down and shook his head. "Woohyun. He's gone." 

"No, I swear. Dongwoo. He was there. I know it. I..." 

Dongwoo grabbed his shoulders and made him face him. "Woohyun. We've all gone through a lot and this isn't a time to sound crazy especially right here and right now. Myungsoo is gone. He left us 6 months ago. We're moving on." 

In the past few months, if anyone would've spoken to him like this, epecailly had grabbed him like that and trumped all of the hope in his heart, he would've started yelling at them. 

Today, Woohyun surrendered. "Okay," he whispered, looking down at the ground. "I... just... can't take it without him..." 

Dongwoo didn't say anything. 

Thier van pulled up. Woohyun sat down in his spot and looked out the window. He pressed his cheek against the cold glass hoping to see the movements that meant that his shadow would move again. 

Woohyun-hyung. 

Don't be mad. 

It's okay to surrender. 

It won't mean that you're a coward. 

You're strong, Woohyun. 

Show the world you are. 

He pressed his lips together tightly as he couldn't see the movements again. He closed his eyes and let one tear fall. 

That was the day that he surrendered. 

Maybe if he knew what was coming his way, he wouldn't have surrendered so easily.
