To human beings, shadows can be perceived in many ways like in literature, where shadows depict feelings of gloom and unhappiness, and it can be used to mean an imperfect imitation or copy. While there are many different meanings to the word ‘shadow’ itself with its various verbs, the most common definition of a shadow would be an area that is not or is only partially irradiated or illuminated because of the interception of radiation by an opaque object between the area and the source of radiation. In simpler terms, shadows are usually seen as non-living things.
