Chapter 4: Strange Feelings

Narrator's POV

The weekend went by quickly. June spent most of it cooped up in her room. The only time she came out is if she needed to use the bathroom, or to eat.

It was now Monday and June got up bright and early to head off to school.

Sine the school didn't really care care what you wore, as long as it was appropriate, June wore this.

She walked down stairs to see Hansol already heading out the door.

"Yah, wait for me!" she said.

Hansol smirked and ran outside slamming the door shut.

June rolled her eyes.

Immature. she thought.

While they were walking to school, June noticed Hansol's attire.

He looked really handsome, even if he just wore something simple.

She didn't notice herself staring.

Hansol looked up from his phone to find June staring at him

'Take a picture, it'll last longer." he smirked.

June rolled her eyes and looked forward.

"So, about what happened the other day, why were you all mad that I've never seen you around before?" June asked.

"Well, how could you not know me? I'm the most popular guy school, everyone knows me." Hansol said proudly.

June scoffed.

"Self conceited much? Well, I haven't seen you around before because I usually spend my free time at school in the garden or in the library." June said.

Hansol gave her a look.

'That still doesn't give you an excuse to not know who I am." he said.

June rolled her eyes.

"Oh my god, would you just let it go? I know you now, so you don't need to worry right?" she stated.

Hansol pinched her cheek.

"Don't tell me what to do shorty." he said.

June slapped his hand away.

"Shut up. I'm not that short." she said rubbing her cheek.

"Well of course you are, you're cheating by wear heels." Hansol pointed out, "Why are you so dressed up anyways? trying to impress someone?" he smirked.

June glared at him.

"Is it wrong for a girl to look nice?" she fought back.

"No, but take it from a guy's point of view, that dress dress, is way to short." he said.

June just rolled her eyes and began walking.

"June!" someone called out.

June turned to see Mingyu walking towards her.

She smiled and waved.

"Hi Mingyu."

Mingyu felt his face burn.

Why is she always so pretty? he thought.

"Do you want to walk to class together?" he offered.

June nodded and they headed to their first class, leaving Hansol behind.

"How could they just ditch me like that?" he said and flipped his hair.

He walked away trying to find some of his other friends.

It was a long morning and June was ready to spend her lunch in school's garden as usual. She plugged in her headphones and began working on her homework so she didn't have much to do back at the Choi's house.

Without noticing she began singing along  to the song she was listening to.

 

Hansol walked into the garden hoping to find June for money for lunch, since he forgot his back at home.

Then, he heard a soft and sweet voice singing to a familiar song.

He saw June sitting underneath a tree, singing, while doing her homework.

The wind blew softly, pushing her hair away from her face.

Hansol felt himself freeze for a minute.

All he could do was stare at her.

Her soft voice singing, her long brown hair flowing down her back.

His heart beated faster with ever second.

What's this feeling? he asked himself.

 

 

June looked up from her homework and saw Hansol from afar, staring at her.

'Take a picture! It'll last longer!" she smirked.

Hansol glared at her then walked closer to her. he sat next to her.

"Don't use my words against me." he said.

June chuckled.

"Why were you staring at me then? Am I that beautiful?" she teased.

Hansol pinched her cheek.

"No, you are not beautiful, you're the most ugly girl on earth." he said.

June swatted his hand away.

"And you have the most absurd and deformed face, trolls laugh at you." she said childishly.

"Take that back. I'm the most goodlooking guy you will ever meet." he said.

"Psh sure." June merhonged.

"Okay, that's it." Hansol got up.

June yelped and slipped off her shoes quickly before trying to run from Hansol.

Hansol chased her while June tried throwing small stones at him.

"Hey! Stop throwing rocks at me! That's not fair!" he yelled.

June laughed and shook her head.

"It's self-defense!" she said and threw one more.

It hit Hansol's hand and he flinched and hissed in pain.

"Okay, you wanna play like that?" he said.

He sprinted towards June and caught her around the waist, making both of them fall. Hansol on the bottom, and June on top of him.

They both laughed.

When they're laughter died down, they looked into each other's eyes.

Hansol felt his heart explode.

"Ahem." someone said.

They both looked up to see Mingyu and a girl next to him.

June quickly got off of Hansol and stood up correctly.

"Hi Mingyu." she said, face pink with embarassment.

Mingyu smiled at her.

"Hi June, I didn't see in the lunch room, were you out here the entire time?" he asked.

June nodded.

The girl next to Mingyu rolled her eyes.

"Hansol oppa!" she sqealed.

She clung to his arm.

"Did you miss me? 'Cause I missed to lots!" she said batting her eyelashes at him.

"I saw you in math Evelyn." he said.

Evelyn pouted.

"So? Math was two hours ago, I can't stand being without for two whole hours!" she whined.

June gave her a look then scrunched her face.

"Well apparently you two need to work things out. Mingyu, ca you help me carry my stuff?" she asked the tall boy.

Mingyu nodded, and they both left to retrieve June's belongings under the tree.

Evelyn glared at the two.

"Oppa, how come when I ask you to carry my stuff, you always say no?" she questioned.

"Because." Hansol plainly stated and shook out of her grip and walked away.

"Yah oppa! wait for me!"
