Chapter 2: You Don't Know Me?

Narrator's POV

June was trying her best to keep her eyes open in the car. Her parents were explaining all the things they were going to provide her. All she heard was 'We'll send you $500 every month,' and she began to dose off after that.

"Seoulmi. Seoulmi? Seoulmi!.......JUNE!!!!"

June jolted up.

"WHAT MATH TEST??" she yelled.

Her mom laughed.

"There's no math test. We're here at the Choi's now hurry up and get out." her mom said.

June sighed and unbuckled her seat belt. She grabbed her backpack that had all her small necessities in it, such as, her phone, phone charger, ear buds, snacks, her iPad, iPad charger, and her wallet. She took out her phone and her ear buds and put one in her left ear as she followed her parents into the big mansion.

"You're here!" Mrs. Choi

Her and June's mom hugged, while the two dads shook hands.

"So, where's your kids?" my mom asked.

"Oh, Hansol, Sophia!" Mrs. Choi called.

From the kitchen, two figures cam out. A teenage boy and a young girl.

"Oh my, look at both of you!" My mom said.

She walked to Hansol and Sophia.

"Wow Hansol, last time was 2 years ago. You've grown up to be very handsome." Mrs. Kwan complimented.

June rolled her eyes. She looked Hansol from head to toe.

Eh, I've seen better.... she thought.

'Thank you Mrs. Kwan." Hansol flashed a smiled.

Mrs. Kwan looked at Sophia.

"And you Sophia! You've gotten a lot prettier as well." She said.

Sophia shyly smiled muttering a 'thank you'.

"And you must be Kwan Seoulmi." Mrs. Choi looked at June.

June nodded.

"Please called me June." she said politely.

Hansol took a good look at her.

Where have I seen her before?  he thought

"So I was told you go to Seoul Arts High School?" Mrs. Choi asked.

June nodded.

Hansol's eyes widened.

June? June Kwan? The on that Mingyu likes? That's her? Wow, he keeps ranting about how beautiful she is, but..... I've seen waaaaay better.

he thought.

"So June, have you met Hansol? He also attends Seoul Arts High School." Mrs. Choi asked.

Hansol pulled out a Twix bar and began to eat it.

Of course she knows me, I'm the most popular-

His thoughts were inturrupted.

"Um actually, I've never seen him around ever." June said.

Hansol's eyes widened and he began to choke.

"Hansol! Are you okay?" Mrs. Choi asked as she handed him a glass of water.

June gave him a weird look.

"Yeah, I'm fine." he said.

Hansol looked up to see June on her phone.

You've NEVER seen me around before? Ever? 

"Well, we better get going," Mr. Kwan said, "We don't want to miss our plane." he said getting up.

 

 

 

 

After the Kwan family exchanged farewells, the atmosphere became awkward.

"Well," Mrs. Choi started, "Hansol, why don't you show June to her room?" Mrs. Choi said.

Hansol nodded and motioned for June to follow him.

While they were walking, Hansol talked first.

"So," he started, "You've never seen me at school? EVER?" he empathized 'ever'

June took another look at him from head to toe and shook her head.

"Nope, haven't seen you around." she said.

 

Hansol's POV

Is this girl for reals? She's NEVER seen me around school? How is that possible? I'm the most popular guy at that school. And almost all the girls are crushing on me.

She must be lying....

"Do you by any chance know Kim Mingyu?" I asked.

I doubt she would know him, if she doesn't know me, then she couldn't-

"Mingyu? Yeah. we're seatmates in math, science, history, language, and we have P.E together, you know him?" she asked.

"WHAT?!?" I shouted.

She flinched.

"What?" she asked looking around.

I pinned her to the wall,

"How do you know Mingyu but not me?" I said glaring at her.

She glared back.

"Oh, I don't know, maybe because I have 5 classes with him?" she said and got out of my grip.

I sighed and looked at her.

"But haven't you seen me around him? Or has he talked to you about me?" I asked.

She shook her head.

"He usually talks about his bestfriend Jeon Wonwoo, and some other guys that I can't remember the names of." she said.

"Well, I was probably one of them." I stated.

She just shook her head.

"Even though I can't remember all their names, I don't remember him mentioning 'Choi Hansol'" she said, "This is my room, right?"

she pointed to a door that said 'Kwan Seoulmi' across it.

I nodded.

"Well, thanks for showing my room." she said.

"No problem." I said.

I stood there, staring at her. she had big brown eyes, long brown hair, small pink lips, and long eye lashes......

Wait. What am I saying?-

"Hansol!"

I snapped out of my thoughts.

"What?"

"You can leave now." she said.

"Oh right. Bye." I said.

She waved and shut the door. I walked to my room, right across hers. I grabbed my phone from my desk and dialed Mingyu's number.

"Hello?"

"Mingyu?"

"Yeah?"

"Tell the guys to meet up at my place."

"Okay. Now?"

"Yup, and you have a lot of explaining to do."

"Okay- wait, what? Why?"

"Because, you just do."

I hung up.

Mingyu, how could you have mentioned everyone of the guys and NOT me....... it feels weird knowing that someone from school doesn't know me.
