"It doesn't matter if you're changing your name from 'Baek Sumin' to 'Byun Sumin', there will still be a 'Baek' in your name since you're Mr Byun Baekhyun's wife." He teased, flashing a mischievous but charming grin which masked his status as 'the heir of Byun Law Corporation'. 

To be a good lawyer, one has to be intelligent, mature, confident, calm and witty, not a playful and childish adolescent who barely acts his age, with education and career far from his priorities. 

Sumin rolled her eyes at the dark haired boy who had his arms crossed, leaning against the row of lockers. She arranged her books according to height, grabbed her gym clothes off the rack and gazed into the built-in mirror to see him still against the row of lockers, staring at her. Shutting the door of the navy blue locker, she turned to glare at Baekhyun, who was snickering at her reaction of annoyance. Sumin was flabberghasted at how he could find amusement in such a picayune matter. Was this the boy she had to marry? The boy who barely passed his subjects in school, much less emerge the top in his class, unlike herself. 

"What now?" She muttered. 

"You have not told me what time I am suppose to pick you up." 

"I'm not going." 

"You have to, our parents will be there!" 

"I don't want to." 

"We have to, besides, my parents expect me to turn up with you."

"Ugh, fine. I'll wait for you outside the restaurant."

Now it was his turn to get annoyed. "What? Did you just reject my offer to give you a ride there?" 

"I don't want to be alone in the car with you." 

"Well, you'll have to be alone in bed with me after we get married, don't talk about a goddamn car." 

Her ears reddened at his direct comment but her gaze did not falter, "That is why I am trying to prolong my freedom while I can." 

"Fine." He relented. "7pm outside the seafood restaurant, don't you dare go in without me." 

Turning to walk away, his index and middle finger did a salute as he disappeared down the stairs.

Baek Sumin

Heiress to 'Baek Law Society', opened by her parents, Mr and Mrs Baek, outstanding lawyers, established in the Gangnam district. She was brought up with the ambition to be lawyers like her parents, excelling academically ever since her first day in preschool. Currently studying her last year in high school, she aims to get into a law school and soon after graduation, take over her parents' law firm. An 18 year old who knows her place in today's society, she tops her class for every test and exam, emerging as the top student of her grade. Besides her intelligence, Sumin is sharp tongued, good with her words, especially at arguing and may come off as cocky but she is really just witty. Stubborn, mature but opinionated, she may appear intimidating but deep down, she has trust issues. Sumin is a quiet but dilligent student, reliable and respected among the student body. She is often voted as the class president and is very organized. Due to her quiet and serious demeanour, her schoolmates may mistake her as a cold and intimidating person, but she believes that one should only talk when necessary, which is why she seems quiet. Sumin isn't conceited, but just confident enough to remain under the 'self-centered' radar. Not only is she known for her good academics, she was the first kid in her neighbourhood to get the black belt for Taekwondo. 

Byun Baekhyun

Heir to 'Byun Law Corporation', he acts nothing like a potential lawyer. Turning up late for class all the time, he chooses the seat at the back of the class. Tuning out what the teacher says, he either dozes off in class or play a fool with his friends who find little insignificant jokes amusing, like himself. Cracking jokes and playing pranks half the time, he spends the other half teasing his fiancee. Baekhyun takes nothing seriously and does not have any ambition or goals to take after Byun Law Corporation although it is automatically his decided occupation after graudation. His wit can be seen when he makes smart and quick comments, but he never puts his intelligence to good use. Despite not actually listening during lessons, he does fairly well academically, barely passing a few subjects. Though he seems extroverted, Baekhyun keeps things to himself and never really shares his inner thoughts or feelings. What people see of him is how friendly and playful he is, not how he expresses himself or thinks internally. 18 year old Baekhyun still has yet to make goals in life and has no ambition, unlike Sumin. No doubt, he is popular among his friends and females because of his fun-loving attitude and attractive appearance but a disappointment to his parents because of his academic results. After all, to be the CEO of a law firm, one has to do well enough to qualify for law school, no? He has a black belt for hapkido, taking up the martial art ever since he was young. 

Marriage 

The Byuns and Baeks have always been rivals ever since the Byuns moved into the Gangnam district. Always vying to be better lawyers, attempting to win as many cases as possible, the Byuns and Baeks are often seen in court opposing each other, as they are well established lawyers who can gurantee victory in court. To settle this rivalry amicably as they age, they decided to use marriage between the Byuns' only son, Baekhyun and the Baek's only daughter, Sumin, to combine both already very influential, remarkable law firms into one.
