Chapter 5

Don't Deny It

"Gwaenchana?" Sungjong asked as tears rolled down my face. I shook my head.

"Am I dreaming?" I asked quietly. "Or is this reality?"

"It's reality, noona,"

"How could he do that?"

"I don't know,"

"He told me he wouldn't do that again, but..."

"But this happned,"

"Hyung probably forgot what he told you, no matter how smart he is,"

"No, he doesn't forget things he tells me,"

"Maybe,"

"Does it really have to be my best friend, though?"

"Well, that's stupid. If he wants to do it, then he should do it with someone who isn't close to you, so you can yell at her or something,"

"Lee Sungjong!"

"What?" he asked innocently.

"Nothing," I sighed and wiped away my tears. He hugged me, and I really didn't expect him to do that even if we were close.

"Don't let me see you cry again, arasseo? I don't want to see you hurt. Not again,"

"Sungjong,"

"Just don't cry in front of me, noona. It hurts me to see you cry. You're one of my closest friends,"

"Fine. I won't,"

"Good. Are you okay now?"

"I think so,"

"Be sure. I can't leave you alone crying,"

"I'm not crying!"

"I can't leave you alone hurt, then. Better?"

"Maybe," he shrugged. I laughed and smiled at him. "Do you want to go talk to him?"

"Uh, no. Instead, I want to talk to Gyu oppa,"

"Will you tell him?"

"Not yet,"

"You promised!"

"I know, but I have to get over him completely first before I say anything,"

"Oh, but tell me when you want to tell your brother. I want to be with you when you tell him,"

"Why?"

"He might not believe you, so I can back you up,"

"Okay, I'll tell you,"

"Gwaenchana?"

"Are you busy?"

"Sort of,"

"I want you to come with me somewhere for a while. I have to show you something,"

"Show me what?"

"You'll know when we get there," I told him.

                                                                         .                       .                           .

"Where are we, noona?" he asked.

"My house," I replied.

"Oh,"

"Turthfully, Sungyeol was always here,"

"Before you broke up?"

"Yeah. And since oppa was seldom here, he never really found out,"

"But he should,"

"I know,"

"But you know why I don't want to tell him,"

"Yeah, ara," he smiled at me. "When Yeol hyung goes here, what do you usually do?"

"We just talk. That's it,"

"I don't believe you,"

"Yah!"

"You really don't do anything besides talking?"

"Yeah,"

"Well that's weird, and I thought you two dated,"

"We did. We just didn't do much,"

"Oh. Do something with me, then,"

"Like what?"

"Tell me what you think about me,"

"That's still talking,"

"It is, but I really want to know what you think of me,"

"Why?"

"Just tell me,"

"You, Lee Sungjong, are one of my closest friends. You are always there when I need you and you don't leave my side until you're sure I'm fine. I'm lucky to have a friend like you," I said. He smiled brightly. "And tell me now what you think of me,"

"You're my closest friend, to tell you the truth, and you're really beautiful, you know,"

"Jong," I stared at him as I felt my cheeks heat up.

"It's true, and now I understand why hyung fell for you," he said softly. I stared at him for a few long moments, then he suddenly leaned down and kissed me on my forehead.
