Tiffany's POV

 

“I hate you!” I yelled at Hyunjoong. He was my sworn enemy…or so we had to make it seem.

 

 

“I hate you more tiffany!” He retorted. I rolled my eyes and walked the opposite direction. The truth would be that later that day we would meet up and have a secret date. We had to pretend because of our parents. Our parents hated each other. Supposedly my mom stole his mom’s boyfriend, and his dad stole my dad’s blueprints for a new building contract they were competing for. There was no way for them to approve of us so we kept it a secret. Tonight he was going to take me to Lotte World. 

 

“Wow… you have no idea how excited I am.” I commented hugging his arm. He smiled down at me.

 

 

“Yeah but I’m more excited that I get to be here with you,” he commented. I blushed and kissed his cheek. Hyunjoong was a wonderful guy and I enjoyed being with him. The hard part was having to pretend that I hated him and compete with him all the time.

 

 

“Let’s go on the Farris wheel first!” I said excitedly. I grabbed his hand and ran towards the huge Farris wheel. We spent our date eating and having fun with each other. I couldn’t have been happier. When we had to leave I couldn’t help but feel sad. I didn’t want to leave him. I didn’t want to pretend I hated him.

 

 

“Can we just be like this a little longer?” I asked hugging him. I could feel him frown.

 

 

“I want to…but we have to go…I promise we’ll go out again.” He assured me. I looked up at him and gave him a peck on the lips.

 

 

“Okay but remember you promised.” He laughed and nodded.

 

 

“I will now go home before I get you in trouble.” He commented. I smiled and waved as we went our separate ways. I felt a feeling in my gut and tried to ignore this bad feeling that filled the air.

 

 

[The next day] 

I woke up to my phone ringing.

 

 

*Who could it be at 4 in the morning?* I wondered. I looked and saw the name ‘Taeyeon Kim’. *Hyunjoong’s Sister? * I wondered. Hyunjoong’s sister was the only person that knew about our relationship and she helped us go out and kept everything a secret. I was very grateful for all her help, but I couldn’t understand why she needed to call me so early in the morning.

 

 

“Yeoboseyo,” I answered.

 

 

“Tiffany hurry to the hospital Hyunjoong got hit by a car on his way home.” She informed me. My eyes shot open.

 

 

“What?!” I exclaimed.

 

 

“Yeah just come please.” She added.

 

 

“Okay I’ll be right there.” I answered and quickly hung up the phone. I rushed to the hospital hoping that Hyunjoong would be okay.

 

 

[Hospital]

 

 

I was able to get in to his room without problems. As soon as I saw him, tears started falling out of my eyes. His arms were bruised and bleeding, his face had cuts, he had needles injecting him with fluids. I couldn’t help but wonder why.

 

 

“He’s not responding to anything but his breathing is normal.” The nurse informed me.

 

 

“Will he be okay?” I asked.

 

 

“It’s hard to tell…I am going to put a neck brace around him so if he makes any sudden movements he won’t damage his spinal column.” She told me as she placed the brace around his neck. Tears kept rolling down my cheeks. As the nurse left, I grabbed his hand.

 

 

“Oppa you promised me we would go on a date… why oppa why….”I cried. I felt his fingers twitch. I looked up to see of maybe he was regaining consciousness but I was out of luck. “Oppa just please be okay…” I whispered.

 

 

“Miss we need to do a couple tests.” The nurse informed me. I nodded and walked out of his room. This continued for a couple days. I would make sure that the Kim’s weren’t there before I would go visit him. One afternoon I went down to go see him. He was healing nicely but he had yet to wake up.

 

 

“Oppa you lazy bum you need to wake up. School is no fun without joongie telling me he hates me. You need to wake up Hyun.” I told him. I was hoping that maybe my words could reach him somehow.

 

 

“T-ti-t-t-fa-ny,” A voice groaned.

 

 

“Oppa,” I answered back.

 

 

“C-can…I-I ha-ave a k-kiss?” He asked. Tears filled up in my eyes. I couldn’t believe he was waking up.

 

 

“I will if you open your eyes.” I said nearing his face. Slowly, he opened his eyes. I stared in to the eyes that I waited days to see. I pressed my lips against his and cried.

 

 

“D-don’t c-cry.” He commented wiping my tears.

 

 

“I can’t help it…I just can’t believe you’re awake.” I cried. He smiled and his family rushed in.

 

 

“Hyunjoong…wait you’re the Hwang’s daughter.” Mrs. Kim pointed out. I bowed.

 

 

“I uhh…yes I am Tiffany Hwang.” I introduced myself.

 

 

“What are you doing here?” Mr. Kim asked.

 

 

“I came to see if Hyunjoong was okay…”I explained.

 

 

“Well I don’t want you anywhere near our son.” Mrs. Kim threatened.

 

 

“S-stop…” Hyunjoong groaned,

 

 

“Honey! You’re awake!” Mrs. Kim explained.

 

 

“L-leave…h-her…a-alone,” Hyunjoong demanded. His mom looked shocked.

 

 

“But son…”

 

 

“I…love her…if you love me you’ll love her…” He explained. He grabbed my hand and I looked over at his parents.

 

 

“Well if thats what you want,I guess there is nothing that can be done…”Mr. Kim commented. From that moment on, our families began to fix their relationships between one another. We were finally able to love each other without restrictions. Oh and we even got to go on that date he promised me.
