2:49 AM, it said on the electronic clock on his desk. The red numbers and letters glared viciously in the dark room lit by a single study lamp.

Kyungsoo yawned as he stretched his arms upward to release the kinks on his back. He was finally done with his literature essay that was due later that day. I should have finished this a week ago. Stupid Jongin.

After arranging the papers neatly in a folder, he stood from his seat, took the wool blanket that hung on the chair and wrapped it around himself. A month in school and the temperatures were starting to drop. Autumn was already in full blast.

He pulled the blanket tighter and looked around. Everything was quiet. Too quiet, he thought. Through the darkness, he looked at the large lump on the occupied bed beside his. His roommate was sleeping, but Kyungsoo found it unusual to not hear even soft snores from the older.

Suddenly, the glass door that led to their balcony rattled, startling him a little. Kyungsoo looked at it and saw the night sky outside. His eyebrows furrowed in wonder as he made a quick glance at his desk clock. It read 2:51 AM. It was not even near sunrise but the sky was already showing an orange hue from far away. At first, he thought that a fire accident must be happening, but that did not explain the rattling. Curious, he walked towards the door and opened it silently, careful not to disturb the other occupant of the room.

The cold wind bit harshly on Kyungsoo's skin as he entered the balcony. He was just about to close the door, when a loud sound from a distance caused the whole building to rumble ever so slightly. Surprised, he immediately looked back at the horizon. His heart dropped and his eyes widened at the sight before him.

From a distance just beyond the perimeter of the university, the sky was set ablaze. The horizon bled scarlet. Out of nowhere, red lines started to fall from the sky, and hundreds of what seemed to be huge balls of fire dropped from the clouds to the ground below. The light coming from the falling entities flashed before Kyungsoo’s eyes as he stared at them in terror. Every time one of them hit the ground, an explosion could be heard from far away and it sent a rumble that shook the ground and his dorm. Seconds later, the sight and smell of smoke started to waft towards their direction.

He was stricken in fear, paralyzed. His brain was telling him to move and wake up his roommate, but his gaze could not leave the horrifying view.

Okay, so this is my first fanfic in very looooooooong while, and my first ever for K-pop. The main plot of this story was randomly made when Baditto and I were studying for our pathology quiz, which means that this was random from the very beginning.

I know that the foreword is a whole bunch of mind, but if you're willing to give this a shot, then thank you very much *le bows*. I'll let you know now that it's going to be hella confusing (I think) since I use a lot of hidden themes. Some parts may bore you, I won't lie XD I'm not very good with characterization, sorry. Please bear with not-so-good writing T AT.

Anywhoo~ I hope you enjoy this (because I am enjoying writing this too even if it's frustrating me at the same time XD).
