I WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR YOU“PD-nim, Moon PD-nim!”
Moon Jae Seok got himself startled when his co-producer
called his name. He quickly gathering his mind back and
look at him.
“We think we finally got the scenes you wanted, PD-nim.”
The co-producer told him again, after he said it couple
times but got no responds, and showed him a camera DSLR
they used to shoot the movie.
Jae Seok nodded after he watched it. “It’s good. We will
use this, then.” he said, and then sighed.
The co-producer noticed his tired look and can’t help but
to ask. “Are you okay, sir? You look… pale. Are you sick?”
he looked at him worriedly.
“I’m fine. Let’s take a break. 5 minutes.” Jae Seok sighed
again and then he stood up from his chair, disappeared into
his van.
Jae Seok was thinking about Chae Won. These two years he
spent with tons of work, producing movies, dramas, CFs and
everything to forget that his daughter is exist; it slowly
became hard to him.
Before, he was always fighting with Chang Wook when he
reminds him of her again. Even when his late beloved wife,
his children’s eomma, appeared in his dream multiple times,
saying that he had to take her back; that they had to make
peace, his stubbornly mind always said that he will not let
her back home unless he found the bastard their daughter
protected.
But ever since he met her in that Samgyupsal Restaurant and
vented his anger at her, not even one day he didn’t regret
it. Lately everyday when he had time, he would pass her
café just to see his daughter living her life from across
the street.
And as day goes by, his heart starts to consider it—to make
peace with her. He can’t deny that he miss his precious
daughter so much. If he is a father, he shouldn’t let his
pride standing in the way to make things right between him
and his children in the first place. Now he just didn’t
care anymore if he had to apologize first.
At the thought of that, he reached his phone; scroll it
down to Chang Wook’s name. Just when he was about to push
the call button, his heart beating faster than usual.
Jae Seok widened his eyes at the pain his chest gave him
when he grabbed it on the shirt. He’s hardly breathing and
panting as he trying to look for help, but when he reached
the van door’s knob, he lost his consciousnesses and fell
down.
Hyo Joo squint her eyes. She felt Chae Won acted strange
today. Seemed like her chingu wanted to say something as
she opened but not be able to find her voice so
instead she closed it again, and she did that multiple
times.
“Chingu-yah, do you have something to tell me?” she asked
suspiciously. “Are you sick?” she asked again, worriedly
this time, when Chae Won didn’t respond her.
Chae Won sighed and swallowed before she shook her head.
“nothing. Let’s have a lunch outside.” She excused herself
and went to her room to change her clothes.
Hyo Joo eyes followed her figure until she disappeared to
her room. She felt something fishy but she pushed that
feeling away and took the magazine on the table, flipping
the pages uninterestedly before she heard her phone rang.
She d her pocket and took out her phone.
“Oh, Chang Wook-ah. What’s up?” she asked as she picked the
call up. “Chae Won-i? Oh, she’s with me right now. No, I
don’t know where her phone is. Why? Do you have anything to
tell her? Tell me, I will deliver it to her.” she spoke and
then quiet to hear what Chang Wook says on the other line.
“Mwo?!” She stood up fast, disbelief of what she just
heard. “o, o, oh… arasso. I’ll tell her.” She continued in
stutter before turned the call off and rushed to her chingu
room.
Chae Won just got her hair tied up when Hyo Joo barged in.
She looked at her in confusion. “Chae Won-ah… Jae
Seok-samcheon, your father… he’s in the hospital. Chang
Wook said he got a heart attack and they brought him to the
emergency room.” She said in panicked voice.
Chae Won’s eyes widened in shocked. Her father got a heart
attack? “h, ho, how is he, then?” she asked, stuttering.
“I don’t know. Let’s go to a hospital first, oh?” Hyo Joo
suggested. Chae Won quickly nodded and soon as she grabbed
her phone, she followed her chingu’s step to her car.
Chae Won’s hand couldn’t stop trembling as she thinking
about the worst thing that could’ve happened to her appa.
Every time she heard someone she closes with is in the
hospital, a bad memory about Joong Seon reappears—makes her
feel uneasy, afraid that this is going to be the last time
she met him.
“Your father forgot to drink his medicine and he’s working
too much but he barely eats…”
Chae Won sat down beside Jae Seok’s bed, staring at him,
when the doctor explained his situation to them. It’s
painful to her seeing her appa lying down on the hospital
bed. It wasn’t like him to look vulnerable and helplessly
with the pacemaker equipment and an intravenous needle
injected on his body. She realized that his hair was almost
in fully white. There are wrinkles here and there on his
tired face, and his body became thinner.
“He’ll be okay, noona.” Chang Wook spoke, calming Chae Won
as he put his hand on her shoulder and give her a soothe
squeeze. He then turned to see Hyo Joo. “I’m going to take
care the administration.” He told her and when he saw Hy
