I miss you
I WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR YOUHyo Joo stood up before “Silvertop Café” and saw her friend
through its glass windows. She opened the door.
“Chae Won-ah!”
Hearing her name has been called up, Chae Won, who is busy
serving her customers turned around and found one of her
best friend since middle-school waving at her.
“Oh? Hyo Joo-ah! You came?” She smiled softly and waved
back. She then gave a sign for Hyo Joo to come inside from
a door in a corner. It was connected to her small house
behind her café. Soon as she done served her customers, she
followed her friend.
Hyo Joo took off her grey coat and hanged it on the chair
she sat on. Chae Won made her favorite cappuccino and gave
it to her. “thanks.” She said. Chae Won nodded and sat in
front of Hyo Joo.
She took a magazine beside a basket full of apples on a
table in front of them and shown it to Hyo Joo. “Look what
I’ve got yesterday.” She talked with a tease voice --waving
that magazine in front of Hyo Joo’s face.
“Urgh, get rid of that, I beg you. That’s not my best
picture.” she pushed the magazine back. Chae Won giggled.
“'The Han Group Enterprises’ ‘Catwoman’, now that’s what I
called a headline. Last month edition was about Soo oppa,
right? Your parents must be proud having their children
made a cover of a Forbes Korea magazine.”
“Eomma made a scrapbook out of it, but appa, he became much
more firm than he already has. Not to mention halaboji,
they made us work days and nights.” Hyo Joo sighed and took
another sip of her coffee. Chae Won smiled and put the
magazine back.
“So, I guess your café is getting more and more popular,
isn’t it? Considering there are so many people out there.
Most of them are man, I noticed. I bet they’re not coming
because they love your coffee but more of because they’re
your fans.” She back. “eeey, are you mocking
me?” Chae Won pretended to scowled.
“Mocking you? Chingu-yah, you’re our school’s former
ulzzang, every guy in our school is your fans.” Hyo Joo
reminded Chae Won. She shook her head, “Having people
wanted to take a picture with me, and you and Geun Young
posted my pictures up on the internet without my permission
doesn’t make me a celebrity, chingu-yah.”
“Don’t forget to add your appeared-in-three-movies-that-PD
Moon-created experience into your career’s life. You were
practically a celebrity.”
Chae Won almost laugh after heard Hyo Joo’s arguments. “um,
no. Be in my own father works -as an extra- was not
counted as a career.”
“Chae Won-ah, even if you’re turned down your appa’s offer
to be the lead and became an extra instead, your face still
appeared on the big screen. That was counted.” Hyo Joo
insisted.
Chae Won sighed –gave up. Hyo Joo can be such pain in the
when it comes to an argument. She’s a businesswoman,
it was in her blood. “whatever reason they had for coming
into my café, I have to thank them. Because of them, I got
to pay up every loan that I’ve had.” She turned the topic
and smiled happily. Hyo Joo looked at her chingu with a proud face.
“Oh, I almost forgot.” she suddenly remembered.
She walked to her desk, opened its middle cupboard and
pulled out an envelope, then back to her chair, gave that
envelope to Hyo Joo, whose eyebrows are frowned. “what is
this?” she asked with suspicious voice tone. “something I
owed you.”
Hyo Joo sighed. “yah! This is not why I’m here, and that
was not a loan. I gave it to you, never expect it to be
back, you know.” Hyo Joo pushed back that envelope to Chae
Won.
Chae Won pushed it to her chingu again. “No, I said it to
you, I borrowed your money, not asked for it. Now I can
give it back. Accept it, chingu-yah, please.”
Hyo Joo stared at her beautiful best friend that will make
every guy fall for her with only a smile, then she sighed.
“you sure about this? If you still need it, I won’t take it
now, you can still……
