Ever since Chae Won was just a girl, her eomma was always
her role model. She got her drawing skill and her softly,
beauty appearance from her eomma and everything she could
do was because her eomma taught her. Chae Won and her brother
grew up on their eomma’s side mostly, because their appa
was barely at home.

Though her appa was busy chasing his goal to become a known
and successful PD-nim, her eomma never looked lonely. She
still remembered how her eomma smiled and what her answer
was when she asked why she never complained to him.

“That is because I love your appa so much, Chae Won-ah. I
won’t stand between him and his dream. You will understand
that when you found someone you truly love. You’re willing
to do anything for him and you will never regret it.”

And that was exactly what she did to Joong Ki. She
sacrificed her heart for not standing in his way.

When she found out that she’s pregnant of his baby, the
only thing she can do to protect his dream was by lying to
him. Though her life has changed drastically after that
with her appa kicked her out of their house and she had to
start her life from the beginning with no money and place,
she never regret it.

And if she had to do it again, she is surely will not going
to regret it either.

“Because I don’t believe in us…”

Joong Ki stares at Chae Won long enough before he felt sure
that the words were indeed came out from .

“M, m, mwo… mworagu?” he stuttered.

Holding her tears so hard, Chae Won turned her head to look
at Joong Ki.

“I don’t believe that our love was so strong for you to
accept this baby. You were trying to chase a dream of yours
and if I tell you, it will ruin it somehow. We both know
that. I don’t want to make you choose between me and your
dream.”

“So you said… that you don’t believe I will choose you and
our baby over my dream?”

Chae Won stares at him for quite long. She could feel that
he’s hurting by looking at his eyes.

Because I knew you will choose me over your dream, which is
the reason why I had to let you go. I can’t bear to see you
give up your dream, I can’t bear to see you unhappy living
your life with me. Someday you’ll regret your decision and
I’m afraid that you’re going to blame me for that.

Swallowed those words inside, she shook her head slowly.

“No, I don’t. I don’t believe you would give up your dream
to be with me and maybe that’s because…” she paused,
swallowed hard before continued to say, “because I don’t
love you that much.”

Saying those words, Chae Won can’t help her tears starting
to fall. She doesn’t want to cry but her eyes won’t
cooperate with her. Turned her head, she wiped it carefully
for Joong Ki to not notice.

“Let’s just give up, Joong Ki-sshi. You and I were living
in a different world. You can’t go back to my world, and I
couldn’t get in to yours. All we can do now is to face the
fact and move on, for real this time.” Chae Won spoke with
a cracked voice that she couldn’t hide any longer.

Joong Ki wants to refute her, proving that she was wrong.
But he was just sat froze, feeling speechless for unable to
return her words.

When he realized Chae Won stood up and ready to leave, he
stood up fast and caught her arm.

“You haven’t told me one thing… how my son died?” he asked,
without looking at her.

Chae Won was taken aback of his question. She was hoping
that he wouldn’t ask about that because she doesn’t want to
remember that painful memory. But now that he asked, she
knew she couldn’t get away unless Joong Ki gets the
answered he wants.
