They saw him.  Their eyes widened in surprise and confusion.  Before they could question what was going on, he raised the sword in his hand and slashed their throats.  Their lifeless bodies dropped to the floor.

He kicked open the door, startling his victim inside.

"What are you doing here?" his victim asked before noticing the two bodies on the floor behind him.  Panic kicked in.  "What's going on?"

Without responding, he raised his sword and approached his victim, who backed away.  He smirked, seeing the fear in his victim's eyes.

"Why are you doing this?" his victim pleaded in tears.

He narrowed his eyes before plunging his sword into his victim's body.  "What I can't have, no one else will!"
