Perfect

Description

Kangin and Sungmin go camping to celebrate their first anniversary.

Foreword

Kangin gently placed the sleeping bags into the car, and did a final check. Everything was perfect, and as Sungmin came out of the dorm with the picnic basket, he was sure that nothing would go wrong.

"I wish that I could come.." Hae said sadly, watching the boys pack.
"We'll go camping next week Hae" Leeteuk said, smiling brightly as the boy. Donghae laughed as he thought of their trip.
"And can we go to the beach hyung? And a themepark?"
"Maybe we can go to those places on other days.."
Waving them off, Leeteuk smiled happily.

Kangin drove to the campsite, chatting with his younger boyfriend. About halfway through the third game of eye-spy, the car started to sputter and shudder. Sungmin sighed heavily, and looked at Kangin with desperation. His eyes were panicky, and he started to tear up.
"Is it broken?"
"I don't know, I'll get out and check. Don't worry, we're going to be okay."
But checking the engine told a different story. Peering through the clouds of black smoke, Kangin shook his head at Min, seeing the boy's scared face.
"We can't drive. It might catch fire."

The younger boy just sighed again, and looked out the window. Climbing out of the car, he hugged into Kangin. They were on a small lane in the middle of nowhere, with only fields and trees surrounding them. The road was silent, with no other cars travelling there.
"Where are we Kangin?"
"I don't know Minnie, but we'll be fine. We can just camp here."
"Is it safe?"
"I'll make it safe, no one will hurt you."

Starting to set up the tent, Kangin was hammering in the pegs whilst Sungmin put the sleeping bags inside and made it all cosy. Putting yet more blankets into the tent, he went to the car to get the important picnic basket.
Locking the car, he felt the first drops of rain.

Running through the rain, and getting completely soaked, they got into the tent as quickly as they could. Shivering, Kangin wrapped his younger lover tenderly in blankets, and felt Sungmin do the same for him. Staring out at the rain and drinking hot chocolate from a flask, Sungmin laughed gently and put his head on Kangin's shoulder.
"What are you laughing at?" Kangin said, giggling a little himself.
Sungmin just laughed harder. "Happy first anniversary Kangin."
Giggling together, they hugged, and Kangin pressed endless kisses to Sungmin's lips.
"I know, it's not really the romantic holiday that Siwon and Ryeowook went on."

Kangin gently hugged Sungmin, and they made a blanket nest together, cuddling warmly in the tent. Lying down, Sungmin nuzzled into Kangin and put his head on his chest.
"It's nice to just spend time with you, to not have to worry about anyone else. I love you Kangin."
"I love you too Minnie, I love you so much."

The younger boy sat up, and took a big parcel out of the picnic basket. "I have an anniversary present for you Kangin."
Although his eyes were bright, and his smile was wide, his lips were blue with cold and his hair was dripping with rain.
Kangin took a towel from the bag.
"Let's get dried first, then we can exchange gifts."

He began to dry the boy's hair softly, and then moved down to his shoulders.
"Minnie, you're soaking. Best to take off your clothes."
The boy giggled gently, and took off his clothes. "This is like a really bad film.."
Kangin hugged him. "Let me dry you.." he whispered, pretending to be a actor.
"How could you, when you make me so wet?" Sungmin whispered, playing along. Hugging together, Sungmin put on his pajamas.
"Why don't I just slip into something more comfortable?"
"Why don't I join you?"
Hugging together in their pajamas, Kangin cuddled the boy close, glad that he was warming up a little. Quickly towelling his own hair, he hid his present behind his back.

"Can I go first?" Sungmin asked, holding the box gently with quivering hands.
"Of course you can. It's beautiful."
The box was perfectly wrapped in soft blue paper with tiny bears on it, and there was a delicate bow on top.
Kangin delicately opened the paper, and saw the box inside. It was plain black, giving nothing away. Sungmin was blushing, and looking incredibly nervous.
"Oh for goodness sake, please open it before I have a panic attack.."
Opening the mystery box, Kangin gasped in delight. Inside was a key, just stuck to the bottom of the box. And next to it was an address.
Kangin looked at the boy, and hugged him desperately. "Minnie, what's at the address?"

The boy looked deep into Kangin's eyes. "Our new home."
Kangin's eyes opened wide, and he stared at Sungmin for a while, just sitting silently.
"Oh Minnie, it's perfect. But how did you afford a house?"
The boy giggled a little. "I borrowed money from Leeteuk, and I saved every penny."
Kangin cuddled the boy gently, and nuzzled into him. "It's perfect, I love it." Looking at Sungmin, he kissed him desperately. "I love you."
"I love you too Kangin, I love you so much."

Hugging his boyfriend gently, Kangin knew that he would pay Leeteuk back, and not leave Sungmin in masses of debt. Holding the tiny present behind his back, he wished that he had gone first.
"Minnie, here's my present for you."
The boy smiled happily at the box, and shook it, frowning when it made no sound. As he opened it, he burst into tears, sobbing as he looked at Kangin who was down on one knee.

"Sungmin, I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?"
Wiping his eyes, Sungmin nodded, not trusting his voice. As the ring slid onto his finger, he cried harder, looking at the perfect diamond.
"It's perfect Kangin."
Hugging together, they gently lay down on the blankets. Sungmin was still crying, and Kangin gently brushed the drops away.
"I hope these are happy tears" he joked, and felt the boy nod against his chest.
"I love you Kangin."
"I love you Minnie."

As they lay snuggled up in the blankets, Sungmin hugged into Kangin gently. "Do you really mean it? Do you really want to marry me?"
"Of course I do, you're perfect. We have such happy times together, and I love you so much. We can have lots of happy memories in our new house."
Snuggled together, they pulled the blankets tightly over them and listened to the rain as it turned into thunder.
"Who would have thought that a tent in a field next to a broken down car in the rain would be romantic?"
"I know" Kangin replied. "We should come again next year."

Laughing gently, they just held each other close. It may not have been a romantic setting, but they made it cosy and loving. They made it perfect.
