Until We Meet Again ► Epilogue ◄

A Promise Kept

I recommend listening to this while reading. :) xoxo Roo

Annyeong! You’ve reached jiggy jiggy Seobie of Beast! I can’t answer the phone right now, but if you leave a message, I’ll call you back….maybe.

The voicemail cut off with Yoseob's giggly laugh. Junhyung sighed softly, his heart heavy. He disconnected the call and dialed the number again, waiting as it rang once and went to voicemail once again.

Annyeong! You’ve reached jiggy jiggy Seobie of Beast! I can’t answer the phone right now, but if you leave a message, I’ll call you back….maybe.

Junhyung felt the muscles in his chest tighten and it was getting increasingly difficult for him to breathe. But he pressed on, continuing his daily ritual. He hung up the phone again and dialed the number for a third time.

Annyeong! You’ve reached jiggy jiggy Seobie of Beast! I can’t answer the phone right now, but if you leave a message, I’ll call you back….maybe.

The phone fell to the floor, the young man breaking down into racking sobs as he fell to his knees. It didn't matter if he left a message or not. Yoseob wasn't going to call him back. Yoseob wasn't going to call anyone back. No matter what message Junhyung left, Yoseob would never call him back; he wouldn't even get it.

It'd been 3 weeks since Yoseob passed away. 3 long weeks of grieving, of tears and of starvation. Junhyung felt like he lost a part of himself, that a huge chunk had just been cut away from his heart. During the day, he'd call Yoseob's voicemail just to hear his voice again, to hear that childish giggle that used to annoy him. He'd look up videos of the deceased singer, fill his Ipod up with his solo performances in additon to every Beast song ever recorded. At night, he's crawl into Yoseob's bed, hoping just to feel some presence of his lost love. His only comfort as he cried himself to sleep was Yoseob's scent which was slowly fading away and being replaced with his own. Yoseob's family took his clothes and all his other belongings. This bed was all Junhyung had left.

There was a soft knock on the door.

"Hyung, i-it's.. i-it's time for the funeral." Beast's maknae, Dongwoon, came in, kneeling by Junhyung. "H-Hyung, you're going to wrinkle your suit. Y-You have to get up." He wrapped his arms around Junhyung and helped him back to his feet, straightening out his clothes after.

"H-He's gone." Junhyung's voice was quiet and broken.

"What was that, hyung?"

"H-He's gone, D-Dongwoon," the elder repeated, a bit louder this time. "H-He's gone a-and he's not coming back."

Dongwoon's face softened sadly as he hugged Junhyung tightly. "I-I know," he whispered into his hyung's hair. "B-But he's n-not truly gone i-if you keep his memory in your heart." Dongwoon's own tears fell as he hugged his hyung.

Junhyung broke into heartwrenching sobs. His breathing was labored as he cried. He clung to the maknae as if his life depended on it, as if it was possible for Dongwoon, too, to disappear out of his life just like Yoseob. He cried heavily, his voice a broken mess. "I-I miss him, Dongwoon."

"I-I know you do, hyung." Dongwoon tightened his grip on the elder. "I-I miss him too." He was trying not to cry, trying to be strong for his hyung, but his shield was slowly breaking down with every heartbreaking sob coming from his hyung's mouth.

"I-It's so hard without him. M-My heart hurts so much."

"I know, hyung... I know."

"Guys, come on we're gonna be la-" Doojoon, the leader of the group, stopped midsentence as he walked into the room, Kikwang and Hyunseung following in tow. He sighed sadly and he hugged his dongsaengs, the other two following suit. They comforted each other and even though his heart was heavy, Junhyung gave a soft smile, feeling Yoseob's presense in the hug.

The service was quick. Each of the members of Beast stood in front of the close friends and family of their beloved main vocalist and shared happy memories. They gathered at the car after the burial.

"S-Shall we head out?" Doojoon asked quietly.

The others nodded and started to pile into the van. Junhyung held back.

"You coming, Junhyung-ah?" the leader asked, concerned.

"Y-Yeah... I'll be there in a minute. Just give me a sec, yeah?"

Doojoon nodded. "Don't be too long. We have schedules in the morning. " He got in the van and closed the door.

Junhyung sighed and pulled out his phone, punching in the numbers quietly.

Annyeong! You’ve reached jiggy jiggy Seobie of Beast! I can’t answer the phone right now, but if you leave a message, I’ll call you back….maybe.

He took a deep breath and waited until he heard the resounding beep. "Yoseob-ah, until we meet again, saranghae jeongmal..."

A/N: Ya'll asked for it, here it is: the epilogue to probably the saddest oneshot I've ever written. Enjoy. xoxo Roo
