Kim Mihae (19)

Fearless, cunning, and brave; Kim Mihae isn't the type of person you want to irk. She was 16 when the war started. Her parents were killed and her brother was captured by soldiers during a raid the Commander organized. When Mihae found her town in ruins with rotting corpses strewn across the streets, she fled to the forests, wandering around until a rogue discovered her in her makeshift camp and took her under his wing, training her two years. But after those two years, he too was taken by some Officers surveying the forests. For one year, Mihae travelled, scouring abandoned towns for weapons and supplies; that is, until she was spotted by a group of Officers patrolling the area.

Kim Jaejoong (23)

Mihae's older brother. After he was captured, he was enrolled into the Soldier Academy, where he was forced to embrace his fighting side, and train. Over the period of three years, he's become apart the strongest team of cadets in the academy.

My heart was pounding as I crept up the stairs of an abandoned building, desperately trying to escape a group of Officers, who had spotted me when I was scavenging the other buildings for materials. I heard the Officers speaking amongst each other, figuring out what to do with me once they had captured me.

"We should have some fun with her before we give her to the Commander—you know how he loves his young girls. Though it sickens me to see what he does to women."

"Shh! Don't badmouth the Commander! And I'm pretty sure that the Commander will have our heads if we mess with the girl. We can't harm her!"

"Pfft, I doubt it. He has too many slaves already. From my point of view actually, I would put the girl in the training academy. If she has survived this long by herself in this world, she's bound to know some self defense."

"I'm pretty sure she does. Enough talking, we need to find the girl soon. Captain's waiting."

My breath hitched in my throat as I accidently stepped on some leaves, the loud crunch revealing my presence. I heard heavy footsteps running up the stairs as I jumped out of the window on the second floor, rolling diagonally once I hit the dry grass. I stood up and sprinted away from the building, glancing behind my back once to see the distance between me and the Officer.

"Crap, they're on my tail..." I thought as I kept regulating my breathing. Thank god I have amazing stamina.

I turned sharply into an alley, trying to shake them off. My attempt was in vain, though. I was met with a dead end after I turned left, hoping there was some kind of opening around the bricks. Never in my entire life have I hated a brick wall this much.

"Surrender and submit! You have nowhere to go." said a deep voice behind me.

Well, damn it.
