It was a rainy Saturday evening as Kim SooRim rushed along the hallway of her condominium building. She was dripping wet, droplets of water falling from her head down to her dress but she didn’t seem to mind. The water dripping from her face made it impossible to see that she was actually crying, unless you hear the faint sobs that were coming out of . She was just running as fast as she could as if she was escaping from someone.   But then, there wasn’t really anyone who was running after her, which made it sadder for her.   When did I even really matter to him? Soo thought to herself, another stream of hot tears trickling down her face.   Little did Soo know that from one corner, someone was silently watching her. He was very tall and lean, with a demure facial expression. Baby-faced would be the perfect expression.   She’s crying again. The guy watched him with sad eyes as Soo ran past him.   She was running swiftly that she didn’t even notice him. In fact, she never really noticed him much right away but for him, he always noticed her.   He always did.   “OMO!” Soo shrieked when she suddenly lost her balance on the floor and unfortunately, twisted her right ankle.   She started groaning in pain and tried standing up on her own, but she couldn’t. She tried once again, and this time she felt lighter as a pair of hands held her on her arms to help her get up.   “Are you okay, Soo noona?” A low, husky voice filled with worry and concern said.   “Chanyeol-ssi!” Soo gasped in surprise as her head turned to face him.   She may not notice him all the time but she knows his name well. She and Park Chanyeol were next-door neighbors after all.   They’ve met for a few times. The very first time they met was at that acquaintance party their landlord threw for all her tenants almost a year ago, and they seemed to have gotten along well. They didn’t talk much after that as they were busy with their own businesses, but they treated one another casually whenever they paths would cross.   Soo suddenly felt embarrassed that a dongsaeng had to see her in such a messed-up state. She always knew him as that young, charming college kid next door. She always saw him as a fine gentleman as he always helped her with carrying her groceries whenever they would meet at the elevator.   And now, Chanyeol is also the one helping her get back up on her feet.   “Thank you.” Soo told him shyly, and as she tried to move her feet she was still limping.   It was good thing that Chanyeol did not let go of her just yet, otherwise her face would have landed flat on the floor.   “It’s okay, Soo noona. I’ll walk with you.” Chanyeol reassured her, and they tried to take small steps together.   However, with every step that they take, Soo would let out a soft whimper, and this made Chanyeol feel bad. She shot him an apologetic look, but the latter gave her a warm, encouraging smile instead. The next thing he did surprised her as Chanyeol slightly squatted down infront of her, and gestured for her to ride on his back.   “Chanyeol-ssi, you don’t have to.” Soo told him, sounding embarrassed.   “It’s okay, noona. Don’t worry. I may not be that buffed and muscular, but I assure you I can carry you well.” Chanyeol reassured her again with a smile, which in return also made Soo smile a little.   Although that wasn’t exactly the reason why she was hesitant. The fact that a younger person was the one trying to take care of her was making her feel embarrassed. However, seeing the sincerity and eagerness of Chanyeol to take care of her, made her feel secure at the same time. It was something she’s been yearning to feel lately.   Finally, Soo gave in to Chanyeol’s request and found herself leaning on his back. She placed her arms around his neck as the lad supported her legs securely. Once they’ve found their balance, they started walking to Soo’s room, where certain changes are waiting for them unknowingly. ***   Chanyeol carefully laid Soo down on her couch as soon as they got inside her apartment. After which, he went straight to the bathroom to get Soo’s towel.   “Thank you so much, Chanyeol-ssi.” Soo said with a grateful smile as Chanyeol came out with her towel, which she took from him right away.   “Soo noona, why are you so formal with me?” Chanyeol pouted at her, which made Soo giggle.   For someone who spoke with a deep voice, having a cute facial expression just wasn’t the perfect combination for it.   “Ah, and now you’re laughing at me.” Chanyeol mocked an offended expression, which alarmed Soo a bit.   “Aniya, aniya. Don’t take it the wrong way. Noona just thinks you’re very adorable. Thank you so much for helping me out today.  I think I’ve bothered you too much already.” Soo said with an apologetic smile, after she finished drying her hair. “Why don’t you go home and get changed? Your clothes got wet because of me. You might catch a cold.”   “Ah, don’t worry about me, noona. I’ll be fine.” Chanyeol said, amidst his bashful smile. It made his heart flutter that his long-time crush was actually concerned for him too. “Besides, you are more drenched than I am. You’re more prone to getting sick. On top of that, you also hurt your ankle. I’m more worried for you.”   Soo wasn’t able to say anything because she knew he was right. Her soaked clothes was making her feel cold and she’s got an injured ankle. There’s no one else she lived with in her apartment at the moment as her roommate, Tiffany Hwang, went to the US for her family vacation. How will she be even able to change her clothes?   “Just stay here, noona. I’ll just call Seohyun noona. I’m sure she can help.” Chanyeol said as he headed for the door   Before Soo could make any protests, Chanyeol was already out of the room. She just sighed in defeat, knowing that there was really nothing she could do about it. She just had to accept that she needed help.   If there was one thing that Soo hated, it was the feeling of defeat. Adding fuel to the fire was that she wasn’t really having the best day after all, which made her feel lousier. She had another big row with her boyfriend for almost two years. He was Chinese but fluent in Korean and was a year older than Soo. She was thinking if it was because of their cultural differences that’s why they’re frequently fighting but then she thought they wouldn’t last this long if it’s because of that. Soo was not really that hesitant to have him as a boyfriend, because apart from being an open-minded person, how could she resist someone who swept her off her feet? Despite of his ice prince-like facade, he was charming and gentle to her.   Or at least, he used to be.   Lately, he’s always been frustrated and moody. She doesn’t know if it’s because of his work but he seemed to be always taking it out on her. Seeing that he came from a family of businessmen, she understood the kind of pressure he was going through. However, there are times when it just wasn’t excusable anymore. His outbursts scared her that there also came a time when he nearly hit her on the face.   But then, just like in any other conflicts, her boyfriend would make up for it by spending some quality time with her. He just knew how to sweep her off her feet but lately he wasn’t as mellow as he was before.   Rather, he was being...aggressive. Most of their kisses weren’t as sweet and gentle as before. Soo also noticed how he seemed to be extra touchy to her. For some reasons, his hands would find its way under her blouse but she tried to fight him off it when he was being too much, and sometimes, it was also the reason why they’re fighting.   Tiffany would tell her to break up with him if he kept on doing that to her, but somehow Soo can’t bring herself to do so. Just one sorry from him, and she would give in just like that. Surely, if Tiffany was here, Soo would definitely get another round of scolding from her mother-like friend.   “Soo noona, Seohyun noona’s here now.” Chanyeol c
