Swimming

The Downsides to Being Petite

I only swim freestyle...

LOL JK, I can't swim hahaha.  ^^;  Which really in the deeper ends of the pool...
I probably can swim at least to the surface or maybe get myself to safety if needed, but I absolutely cannot float.  Some people say it's impossible not to float, but they haven't seen me.  I'm like Rei from Iwatobi Swim Club before he learned butterfly.  OTL
I've seen things online that says babies instinctively hold their breaths underwater or something because they had already spent 9-ish months floating in fluids when they were still in the womb, but I call bull.
Parents have the option of signing themselves and their babies up for classes that teach infants how to flip themselves face-up and float/swim in the event that they fall into relatively deep water.  My parents definitely tried to teach me that after I was born because we have a pool.  But because I'm not buoyant at all, I always ended up swallowing so much pool water and throwing up... in the swimming pool the classes were held.  Considering they couldn't kick out an infant, they just had to put up with me for a couple of months until my parents gave up and decided to try swimming lessons again when I was big enough to hold my breath consciously.  XD
Needless to say, I never got far without a kick board.

Frankly, I hate swimming.  I don't like the feeling of being wet or those giant ripples in the water.  Hell, I don't even enjoy showers.  Why would anyone WANT to make it harder for them to breathe?

Okay, before I end up going on that "humans evolved to be on land" rant, I'll just spit it out.
I'm tired of nearly drowning every time in deep pools and always getting splashed in the face and breathing in water when I want to stand in a 4 feet-something deep pool.

The only way I can think of resolving that problem since I am unable to swim is to float around in a inner tube, but then I have issues when my feet don't touch the ground or something solid and stable...  OTL

If it wasn't for the fact that I have to keep an eye out for my adorable little cousin Patrick, I'd totally try to sneak back to my room first.

But seriously, I don't understand why we need to go overseas to swim in the ocean and pools when my family in Cali already lives near the beach and we have a 3-4 feet deep pool in our own house where my height complex wouldn't be that much of an issue!  Plus, no bugs!
Minus bees and ticks that only appear in certain places, I've only been bit by some other bug 2 or 3 times in my whole life back home, but I get between 10-20 every year we go to some tropical place.  I hate that I get attacked outside of the water by fleas and mosquitos...

This kind of turned into more of a "why i hate tropical vacations" rant...  Sorry.  XD

Anyway, thanks for reading if you've made it this far!

Well, I guess everyone should be accepting of their height no matter what, because, like you said, there are downsides to being small, but being a giant isn't such a fun ride either. I'm 11 and I'm 5"4 with broad shoulders and a wide build. Whenever I go out with my friend, I feel so tall and out of place because they're at least half a foot shorter than me. They all fit in with each other, and I don't. I feel that I'm going to knock something over because I'm so big and sometimes I can be clumsy. Petite people are so quick and agile, and I'm so jealous. Although one height advantage is that because I'm tall, I have long legs and I can run pretty fast ^_^
So, whenever you're frustrated with your height, think of the positive aspects instead of the negative. Balance out the disadvantages with the things about your height that make you satisfied. If you need to rant, that's okay too, but be happy with yourself overall! <3

Chapter 1: I'm 16 and I'm 5'4" and wear a size 0 but no matter where I go THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A SIZE FREAKING ZERO so I always have to go a size up, which is either a 1 or a 3 in some cases, and the clothes are HUGE on me. Even 0s are slightly big on me and I have slightly below average s, but why are all the bras smaller than C cups look like a unicorn puked on them *sigh* it's hard being small.
I used to actually think I wasn't going to grow because being short runs in my family (well for the older siblings at least, all the younger ones are HUGE...my little sister is 5'10") so I thought I was gonna be 4'11" for the rest of my life, but I had 2 growth spurts in the last two years, so I guess that's kind of a blessing.
But I've always been slow in developing things, so maybe that's how you are. You never know, you might sprout up 8 inches in the next couple of months *shrug*

Chapter 1: otl well im obviously younger than you but i'm at 5"2 right now and my parents are constantly complaining. and throwing milk bottles at me.
BUT I HATE MILK. unless it's soymilk cause soymilk is my life
but yeah. my dad expects me to be at 5"4 right now cause he said "tall girls are more attractive, but just don't get to tall." i should be at 5"6 by the time i'm out of school. - n -

but hey on the bright side, i don't have to worry about finding a guy who's taller than me XD ...and it's okay girl. why you gotta worry? your children will most likely inherit kris's giant genes . w .

Just out of curiosity, how tall would you like to be if you could choose?

Chapter 1: There's a downside to being tall, too.
I'm not even THAT tall. 5 ft 7 and I love heels - my favourites are 5 1/2 inch ones that are so gorgeous and lovely (I love them as much as I love my Heenim /shot), but it's so awkward when you're taller than guys. I think I'd be as tall with Zelo with them on :(
I need a tall guy. My friend was once talking/going out/I-have-no-idea-what-the-eff-was-happening-with-them with a guy. I have another tall friend who is 5 ft 8 and we're the tallest in our group and the other girl is prob 5ft 5. So when we first met the guy, he was about 5ft 4. I felt like I was older than him by a couple of years - and he was older than me.
My friend and I called him the leprechaun or the gremlin. we once referred to him by his real name and then someone was like, "Who the eff is that?" "Gremlin." "Oh! That guy! Is she still going out with him?"

TL;DR When guys are shorter than you, it :(
I'd rather be short than tall. Guys think short girls are cute :(
