Chapter 22

Water Shifter

“I told you already, you shouldn’t have forced yourself. The others will be worried if they found out that you stood up from your bed.” Said Sunny.

Sunny and Sulli are by the door of the room where the Circle is. The head of the clan called for the water shifters and the circle. Of course no one in the circle would have a way of knowing who the chosen one is, so Sulli just got to be there. But they hid by the door just so the others won’t ask her to return to resting.

“Hush Sunny, we will be caught if they hear you.” Said Sulli

Sulli took a peak…TOP was there with Master Cha and Kris…but Minho and Chanyeol weren’t.  Sulli’s heart sank. She remembered Chanyeol’s confession earlier the day. He must be…not in the mood to see her and the circle. But Minho…where is he?

Sunny tug at Sulli’s shoulder. “They’re starting.”

Sulli closed her eyes. But making the Call is draining Sulli’s energy. Her body is still weak…but she has to do this.

The blue light came out of the Circle members.

It tooka  while of waiting…but light did not appear on any of the 4 shifters.

“Why? So…it’s none of them?” Sunny looked up at Sulli.

“It’s definitely not one of them.” said Sulli

Master Cha opened the door and saw Sulli and Sunny.

“I thought you’d be around. You should be resting.” Said Master Cha

“It’s fastest to know if I am here.” said Sulli “It’s not of them Master. The one we seek is someone else.”

“But these are all the shifters we have in the village.” Said the head of the clan.

“It can’t be. The prophesy has never gotten it wrong.” Said Sunny

“That’s true…in that case…is it possible you have a shifter here whom you are not aware of?” asked Kris

“We have to study the prophesy. Maybe we’ll find more clues there.” Said Master Cha

Sulli was back to the room with the Circle…Chanyeol and Minho still nowhere to be seen.

Kris opened the locket and revealed the prophesy.

“There is no other village that the prophesy is talking about aside from seaside…it definitely is this one.” Said Master Cha

“Hmm..it says that the mark is on the knee of the shifter. We should probably look at the knees.” Said Kris

“Hmm..but the blue light is so intense we should have seen it already.” Said Sunny

“That’s true…unless it’s being hidden purposely…” said TOP

“Even layer of clothing can’t keep the blue light.” said Kris

“Then it might be hidden by thick materials.” Said TOP

“That means the person we are seeking knows we are looking for him.” Master Cha “Whether he is one of the four or not.”

“It’s hard to look for someone who doesn’t want to be found.” Said Kris

“I’m sure he has reasons.” Said Sunny

“Defending yourself?” asked TOP

Sunny rolled her eyes.

Knee….the circle member has the mark on his knee…

Sulli suddenly remembered a picture in her mind of a boy holding his knee in the battle the other day. He held on to his knee so tight that even when Minho was about to attack him with fire, he did not stand up and just held on his knee.

“The other day…when we had the battle with the Seaside water warriors…are there any shifter among them?” asked Sulli

“It seem the thin man was shifter. We saw him earlier…but the rest are just ordinary water controlling warriors.” Said Master Cha “Why do you ask?”

Sulli shook her head. “I am just curious…I just remembered the twins we faced in the battle…I think the girl got really hurt so I want to see them before leaving the village…” said Sulli

“You are such a softy. That was a battle. No need to say sorry. They hurt you too you know…you almost died there.” Said Sunny “But they didn’t go here to apologize did they?”

Sulli just nodded.

That young man…what was his name again? Could he possibly be the one they are looking for?

Minho waited everyone to leave the room Sulli is resting. And then he followed Master Cha. There are things he needs to know. There are questions that need answers.

“Can I talk to you for a moment?” asked Minho

“What is it?” asked Master Cha

“When Sulli got attacked by a black dragon…I learned that I wasn’t alone in this world…and that there can be others out there which is like me.” Said Minho

“But why was I separated? Why am I not with them?” asked Minho “Why did I end up in the palace?”

“You suddenly have all these questions…because of the vision?” asked Master Cha

“Did I forget…or did someone made me forget?” asked Minho

Master Cha is trying to evaluate the situation. There is no right word to put it. And Minho looks at the edge.

“Why do you think so?” asked Master Cha

“You said the King would do everything for Zaruum…did that include erasing my memory?” said Minho

Why does this have to happen when they are close to completing the circle?

Master Cha could not answer.

“Why did he do it?” asked Minho “For Zaruum? Did he realize that he might’ve totally disconnected me from who I really am?”

“Black Dragons…have been siding with the Dark all throughout the history Minho. That has been proven time and time again. But  the King had hopes that you would be different.” Said Master Cha

“And so he changed my mind” said Minho

Minho felt like the anger in his chest and veins is close to explosion. The King erased his memory to pull him to their side. But the King totally separated him from his kind…the Black Dragons.

“I have told you before Minho…Zaruum has thousands of lives depending on the King…he would protect them at any cost. But that is not to say that he is proud of everything that he did. But those are necessary things he had to do….to protect the Kingdom.” Said Master Cha

Minho noticed the door behind Master Cha partially opened and then closed.

“I want to know the truth. I want to know who I am. The King took that choice out of my hand.” Said Minho

“If the King did not do it, you’d fall to the darkness totally. You’d never see what it is like to be in the light.” Said Master Cha

“But then I would belong…It is where I was supposed to be.” Said Minho walking away.

Master Cha closed his eyes. They can’t lose this battle. Minho can’t leave the circle.

Sulli slowly walked back to her bed…
