"Hyung?" Kai's body froze as his eyes couldn't belive what they saw.   "Kai? What are you doing at my house?" D.O tapped him on the shoulder to unfreeze him. "And why aren't you wearing a jacket? It's freezing cold!"   "I- uh.."   "I hate the person who betrayed me!"   D.O's words from that day didn't let him finish his sentence. The sudden realization that Jongin might've been the person Kyungsoo despised the most and the thought of it hurt like crazy.   'If I tell him I'm that person, he'll hate me... he'll leave me...' the thought of being hated by his hyung who he longed for these past 7 years made it hard for him to breathe. It was suffocating. "I came to visit you because I was bored at the dorm and your house was the close by... I hope I didn't bother you."   "Oh... I see." D.O lifted his hand off Kai's shoulder and rubbed it against his other hand. "Come in! It's really cold out here."   "No, I don't want to disturb you. I'll leave." Kai tried to smile but it was difficult to do so while holding his tears back.   D.O went back inside his house and Kai turned around and started walking towards the bus stop at the end of the street. He shoved his hands in his jeans' pockets because they had become frozen and numb but all of a sudden, his cheeks started to burn. Kai removed right hand out of his pocket and placed it on his cheek only to realize that tears had been falling non stop but his face was too numb to feel it. He only felt a burning sensation with the urge to breakdown any second.   "Wait up!" D.O ran after Kai who was halfway towards the bus stop. D.O was holding a blue jacket in his left hand while holding a thermose cup in the right. When he finally caught up to Kai who was frozen on his tracks, staring endlessly at D.O, he yelled at him, "what the hell were you thinking going without a jacket in this weather? What if you caught a cold or something?" he handed the jacket to Kai and gently pressed the warm thermose mug against his cheeks. "Here, hold it." D.O passed the thermose to Kai after he had put on his jacket. "And give me your other hand."   "What? Why?" Kai was lost with D.O's actions. He took out his hand and D.O quickly grabbed it with both his hands and rubbed them.   'If I told him I was Jongin, he wouldn't come near me like this...'   "Ah.." D.O let go of Kai's hand and placed it on his left cheek, "why are you crying?" he asked, wiping away his tears.   Kai quickly backed away and rubbed his face, "I wasn't crying! It's just because it's cold out here.."   "Alright, let's go then!" D.O threw his arm over Kai's shoulder to Kai's surprise.   "Go where? I'm going back to the dorm." Kai said, not knowing what D.O meant.   "That would be a waste. Let's go play~!" The playful hyung made the pitiful Jongin smile. -   "Hyung," Kai sipped on his warm coffee from the thermose mug D.O had prepared for him. It was bitter without much flavour but to Jongin, it was the best coffee he had ever tasted, "who's that person?"   D.O took a seat next to Kai on the cold bench at the bus stop. "Who?"   "The person you hate... the person who betrayed you." Kai gulped making his throat hurt. He didn't want to but he needed to hear it from Kyungsoo himself.   D.O looked straight ahead at the empty road. The silence made Kai anxious, so much that it started piercing a hole in his heart. His chest tightened as he waited for him to say 'Kim Jongin'.   "Oh, that person. It was the person I used to admire and treasure the most. He- oh the bus!" D.O got up and Kai followed. The bus was headed towards the Lotte indoor amusement park. It was an hour long bus ride but during the whole time, Kai didn't bother asking the rest. Maybe it was because he didn't want to know how much he was hated by his hyung. Kai just wanted to enjoy his little date with D.O which wouldn't be possible if he was Kim Jongin and D.O was Kyungsoo. Maybe it was better this way.   "Hyung, let's go on the rollercoster!" Kai's mood uplifted looking at all the fun rides but D.O's eyes grew bigger as he shivered at the furious ride.   "Um... can we not? I'm not good with those things. Oh, the bumper cars look fun!" D.O tried to distract Kai but it didn't work.   Kai just chuckled at his cute hyung. He was still the same as before, scared and nervous. "It's ok hyung, I'm here. I'll protect you." He beemed but it hurt not being able to say it as Jongin. His promise to protect his hyung.
