Painkiller
Description
She tried so hard, she really did. But, no matter how hard she worked - no matter how much she cried - the pain never went away. He was always there in her memories, and she knew that would never change. She needed something to take the pain away - anything to kill her pain.
Mei's life has always been difficult. Her mother walked out of her life when she was five years old, leaving her with her drunk of a father. She was always alone, always depressed - until she met him. He didn't know it, but he saved her from her darkness. He pulled her into the light and kept her from going insane.
But when he suddenly left one day - leaving her on her front porch with the simple words of "I don't love you anymore" - she fell back into the darkness, a darkness which she could not escape on her own. She would do anything to make the pain go away - and she did. When she was seventeen, she decided to finally heal herself. Two years later, she began a new life in Seoul, South Korea - away from her past.
But what happens when her past catches up to her again? Will Mei fall back into darkness, or will she find her light? And, if she's able to grasp that light, will it be the light from her past - or a new light?
