Pretensions

Description

Im Yoona is just one of those typical highschool students in Seoul High. Her life is going smoothly not until she finds out that her parents have decided to engage her with some guy she does not even know. Their reason is all about her future sake since they have learned that their daughter has no interest in having a relationship with someone and is fine being alone as she grows up. How did they know? Well, Yoona has that common notebook where most of girls write their everyday experiences about their life or just simply called 'diary'. All of her secrets are there, even the darkest one. And one time, her mother, being a curious one and a bit meddler, peeked on it and found out that certain secret of hers only.

But then, of course, Yoona refused with their plan. Well, who would not, right?  You are going to marry someone you have not met and known yet for once in your life and do not even love?! And plus the fact that she is not interested in the so-called 'love' thingy, she could just say 'What the fck?!'. That is one of the funniest jokes she has ever heard in her entire life! And it is really hillarious, as in really! Please note the sarcasm.

So to convince her parents to stop their selfish decision for her, a not-so-good idea popped up on her mind, or rather, a white lie.

"BUT I HAVE A BOYFRIEND!"

And ting! In just a snap, her problem is solved already..... or maybe not.

"Really? Well, you have to prove it. And once you have proved it to us, we will cancel your marriage."

Oh yeah! But.... Oops! What will she do now? She needs to prove it! But how? Uh-oh.

Foreword

"Ahhhh!~ I'm going crazy already! Argh!" I released an exasperated sigh and scrubbed my hair harshly with both of my hands out of frustration.

I grabbed a book across me and began reading the front cover of it.

"Yah! Just so you know, you're crazy already. But please! Stop blabbering there and just think of solution for your stupid problem," Seohyun hissed and poked my forehead with her index finger.

I pouted and stared at her with my infamous puppy eyes as if asking a help from her.

She looked back at me and cocked an eyebrow.

"What? Asking for help?" I nodded.

"Huh! I already told you that you wouldn't like what's inside my head," she grinned foolishly and patted my head.

I immediately grabbed her hand and responded, "Please! Just help me Seo! I can't think of any solution."

"Pshh. Okay, okay." I smiled in triumph and looked at her with eyes full of hope.

"Err... you said that your parents are forcing you to marry someone you don't know, right? An arranged marriage, to be exact." I nodded my head as an answer for her question.

"So... your problem is you don't want, right?" she asked.

"Of course! Who the hell would like to be married to someone they don't even know?! That's ridiculous!" I burst out of anger and unconcsiously pounded the table with my fist which resulted in making a loud thud sound.

"Yah! We're in a library, you know?!" Seohyun whisper-yelled.

Gosh! I forgot that we're in the library! My bad.

I raised the two fingers in my right hand, forming out a peace sign, as I smiled sheepishly.

Seohyun just rolled her eyes at me and continued, "So as I was saying, you don't want their idea then you lied to them of having a boyfriend," she chuckled sarcastically and went on, "Your mom told you to prove it and now you're having a big big problem with that. Seriously, that's very simple Yoona! You just have to find someone to pretend as your boyfriend, DUH?" She said with a matter-of-fact tone.

"I know! I know! But I don't know who will play that role," I heaved a deep sigh and placed my arms on the table then leaned my head over them.

"Tsk. There are so many boys out there," I heard her said.

I did not answer her since it was just a statement which did not have to be answered at all.

So, I just buried my head between my arms instead.

"Yah! Listen to me! I thought you want help?" she shook my body continuously.

"Imlisteningtoyoulkdawdff," I murmured.

"What?! Yah!" she kept herself from yelling and continued on shaking me furiously.

But then, she was not contented from doing that so she violently pulled my hair, making me tilt my head.

"Yah! It hurts!" I complained and thankfully, she instantly released her grip from my hair.

Tsk. She's so violent as always.

"I said earlier that there are so many boys out there! I'm trying to help here, you know. So why won't you listen, huh?" she grunted.

I combed my hair with my fingers first before answering her, "For your information Seo JooHyun, I am listening. And about that many boys thingy, I don't like that idea of yours."

My best friend looked at me with a frowned face and shot me a scrutinizing look.

"And why? You can't be choosy this time Yoong. This is a serious matter," she reminded me as she averted her gaze from me and back to the book she was reading.

"You do know that I'm not that comfortable around boys, right? Well, except for my dad, of course. So—" I had not continued what I was telling her when she interrupted me.

"So you don't want to have a relationship with some guy. I know that already. You're a man-hater, duh?" Cutting me with my words and continuing it all by herself, she turned to look at me.

I fixed my spectacles and replied, "I'm not a man-hater. It's just that I don't feel like hanging out with them."

"Okay, fine. If you say so but then why did you tell them that you have a boyfriend? It's ironic," she chuckled.

"Uhmm.. well, I can't think of any reason aside from that, that's why. I know it's odd," I explained.

"You're so weird sometimes. Oh, always rather." I glared at her and on the other hand, she just playfully stuck her tongue out.

Seriously, I don't understand my best friend's attitude. Earlier, she sounded so matured and now, she looks childish. Aish.

"Kyaaaa!~ Omo! Why is he here?"

"Oh gosh! Luhan oppa!~"

"Why is he here?"

"He came here for me! Kyaaa!~"

"Aishh! What is happening?!" Seohyun groaned between her gritted teeth.

She did not like noisy atmosphere so we were always here in the school's library during our vacant time.

But once you crack the silence around her, you would not like what she could do, seriously.

We were in the complete back of the library so we can't determine what was that noise all about. And since this library was surrounded with many book racks, our place was really hidden.

But eventually, something sunk inside me.

"W-wait. Did just somebody mention L-luhan oppa's name?" I nervously asked myself.

And right on cue, Seohyun's eyes met mine.

"So what now? Feeling all twitterpated there? Then later on, you will hide again. Tsk," she teased.

"I'm—" And as unexpected, a hot good-looking blonde guy walked over to our place.

My heart began skipping a beat as he continued going to our direction. However, it stopped pounding hard on my chest when my eyes landed upon the girl behind him. And in an instant, I felt this kind of feeling I shouldn't be.

Jealousy strikes again. Who the hell am I kidding? Of course, it's not me whom he came for... or so I thought.

"That's her. She's Yoona... and she's my girlfriend."

WHAT THE HELL? Me?! His girlfriend?! Gosh! This is heaven! But the question is why? How? Last time I checked, he doesn't even know I exist in this world.

Seohyun's jaw dropped as same as the girl behind him.

Me? I don't know what to react. But maybe this is the answer for my problem. Thanks God. But I don't know what will happen next.

Maybe I could die already? Nah. Just kidding.
