This installment is a kind of continuation from Chapter 6: The Boy Who Eats The Stars.

Well, though you will still be able understand the story if you havent read chapter 6, I do recommend you to read that one first to be fully understood about the situation :3

Not only that he loves to eat the stars, Taemin loves to play with butterfly.
You might think it’s only because of the image they got from their big hit song, or maybe you’re even thinking that it’s not possible due to the fact that he doesn’t like bug?
Well, I only told you the truth.

I acknowledge this weird but adorable habit of him from way before, it’s just came back to my mind again as now I saw him sitting by himself on the edge of a huge rock at the parking lot of the management office, on the tip of his finger there’s a blue butterfly, and the 19 year old boy couldn’t take his eyes off that pretty little creature.

Unknowingly, a smile appeared on my face as I remembered our conversation that day, one summer we spend together a couple of years ago.

‘What’s with butterfly anyway, is it because it’s pretty so you don’t hate them like you do to another insect?’ I asked him out of curiosity when I just found out about it.

He looked at me like he’s saying, ‘Noona, I’m not that naïve.’ But he did look dumbfounded at first.
Then he shook his head, ‘Aniyo’. He’s still talking in formal with me back on those days.

‘So?’ I was trying to reach out but it’s only caused the butterfly to fly away from his palm. ‘.. Sorry.’ I mumbled to him while he’s just staring up to where the insect fluttered its wings and fly up above.

He shrugged to my question as then he said, ‘Because it’s pretty, but doesn’t seem to care about how unpretty my fingers are, they still wanted to perch on it.’

Ah, yes, I was kind of curious too, to the fact that those butterflies seem like willing to stop to fly and just lean to his hand. It’s like there’s a magnet or something.

To hear his explanation, I just smiled.

Did I mention he always commented about how he hates the shape of his fingers? And how I always think that his fingers do look –surprisingly- not as pretty as people thought it would be? Even his athletic Hyung or nagging Umma’s hand does look prettier. But despite that his hands look rough, I do think it's surely a man's hand. A hardworker's hand. And I love the feeling when my hand is holding by him.

Maybe because he saw me smiling, he himself laughs a bit embarassedly to his own words. Covering his laugh with the back of his hand, then he continued, ‘Other than that, I also like the mysteriousness of it.’

I looked at him, and he’s staring back at me, this time his laughter has stop. There’s a level of seriousness I caught on his eyes when he’s suddenly said, ‘To make it simple, it reminds me of you, Noona.’

My eyes must grew bigger out of surprise at that time, while he’s just bashfully laughs again and mumbled, ‘Ah, really. I must’ve been hung around Minho Hyung too much now I even start to have the nerve to talk shamelessly like that to a girl.’

And after that my laugh finally burst out. But even until this moment I still remember that is the first time I thought he’s definitely not as childish as he seems, although it’s also make me realized on how simple-minded he truly is.

Back to where I am now, as I walk closer to him, my smile grew bigger. And when I saw about to call out his name, he’s suddenly look at my direction. The butterfly on his hand flies.

I can see that he’s smiling at me, yet he doesn’t wave or even move a bit.
With his darting eyes, he looked so calm it’s scaring me somehow.

It’s kind of different than the time when I was arrived from Barcelona last week; this boy literally lifted me in his arms looking so overwhelmed as I came to the group’s dorm to see him.

‘Sorry to keep you waiting, and the trouble you went through with Manager-nim so that im allowed to be here.’ I said to him but I tried to keep a distance as I know he always surrounded by his devoted fans everywhere he goes.

He shook his head as then he stood up and we walked to the car his Manager has prepared for us to join the rest of the member in an event outside the city.

I said to him, ‘So the butterfly still loves you, huh?’ as he opened the car door for me.

To my words, he laughs slightly and say, ‘Well, she always will.. won’t she?’
Then he reached out his hand and when I looked at him, I can see that he might want to held my hand but he knew he couldn’t –not in the public nor in front of his Manager.

So then I smiled understandably and put my point finger on the tip of his, saying, ‘No doubt about it.’

As I saw the Manager got into the driver seat, I nodded so then Taemin closed the door and he gets to the front to seat on the passenger seat next to his Manager.

‘Everything’s all set?’ The older man asks him and also looked at me. I nodded to him.

‘Yes, Noona is here and we’re all set. Let’s go, Hyung.’ Taemin answered for both of us, and when he said that, I dont even need to look at him to know that there's a smile on his face.
