One in a Million

Description

There are no coincidences. Everything that happens is predetermined and so willed by fate...

Baekhyun did not believed that there was something like destiny, or horoscopes which should determine the life. It was a coincidence, if you suddenly met an old school friend or acquaintance, or that it just rained then, if you have no umbrella, or that you get the supermarket checkout which suddenly make problems.

But soon, Baekhyun should learn that fate is often revealed in a very miraculous way and it may happen that the after life completely falls apart.

Angrily, Baekhyun trudged through the empty streets, past the dark windows of numerous shops that were closed since hours. Only a few people encountered him, but Baekhyun hardly noticed them.

Actually, it was his day off today, but after Wu Fan, boss and the owner of the EXO, had called him around lunch and had asked if he could assume for two sick colleagues, his freetime was gone.

Actually, the weather forecast in the morning had said sun until late in the evenings and together with pleasant temperatures and ACTUALLY, Baekhyun had wanted to be home since hours.

But as luck would have wanted it, his shift was longer than normal this night and therefore he missed his last train home. Thus he had no choice but to walk the whole way home.

However, as luck would continue, it had suddenly started raining and within seconds he was soaked to the bone. Although he had tried to find something where he could wait for the rain to stop, he was tired and wanted to be home. Added to this was that it was getting colder with each moment, and he began to tremble more and more because of his wet clothes.

The sudden clang of something metallic made Baekhyun stop and caused him to looked up. A narrow, dark alley was stretched to his left. An abbreviation of almost ten minutes if you wanted to, but Baekhyun normally avoided places like this, where all kinds of vermin and hookers and who knows what around were at home by night.

But as strange as it was, and although Baekhyun usually avoided this place, he seemed just today an uncanny attraction to him to have.

He carefully put one foot before the other, looked nervously around, but was curious at the same time since it was the very first time that he stepped in here. Baekhyun did not know if it was due to the weather and time - it was already three thirty in the morning - that he met no one met him, Baekhyun was glad when after a light curve the end of the alley was already in sight.

Only a few more steps separated him from the brightly lit intersection, when there was something next to him and drew his attention.

He would almost be gone by and farther towards the intersection, when the headlights of a passing car fell into the alley and revealed a young man about his age right next to him.

"Dear lord!" more than frightened, Baekhyun flinched back when he saw the bad condition the other was in. He had a gaping laceration at the forehead, bruises all over his face, a black eye and a busted lip as well as countless scratches and other minor injuries, which frightening looked like... burns. Moreover, the young man was completely pale, had his head tillted to the side and it was hard to tell if he was just sleeping, unconscious or dead.

Foreword

I really do not know why I'm so into chaptered fanfics these days...
okay, this one now is actually old, like old!
started writing it a year ago after I saw a fan edit picture (which I sadly lost when I lost my first external hard drive) of Baekyeol where
they both looked like vampires; and since I've a thing for vampires I just had to write it...
