After a terrible storm, a monkey is scouring through the sand of the beach. He finds an unconscious boy and decides to bring him back to the family of monkeys on the island.

The boy, Chan, grows up under the care of the monkey, not remembering anything of his life before the island. Though being an outsider, he finds a friend in the monkey Dae and the parrot K.

One day a ship finds its way to the island and Chan meets Prince Yongguk and his companions. Wondering where his real family is and where he is from, Chan agrees to join the prince back to civilisation, accompanied by his two animal friends and the monkey that found him on the beach.

But not all is well in Prince Yongguk's castle.
