At Last

Last day of the year, December 31st. When most people would be out with their families enjoying the falling flocks of snow, Bbang was overseas with family and Chaelin and Daehyun were indoors, sitting in their sweats and longsleeves, planning their off. They wanted to go somewhere to eat and be home by 11 PM so they could enjoy the last hour in peace.   And so, at 7PM, they were both sitting in a restaurant. Nothing fancy but it wasn't anything average either. Chaelin was nibbling her steak and Daehyun was munching on his beef.    "Time flies, doesn't it? It feels as if I met you yesterday.."   Chaelin contemplated the words. It was true. In fourteen days from now on, it would be a year since they have known each other. The numerous battles they had attended, the small things he had done to become closer to her, the deeds and habits she had picked up from him.. Everything was still fresh in her mind. Even the day they met, the day he proclaimed the title of King of the Underground.    "It's so weird. It's like it was this morning that I told you to get away. I'm still surprised how easily you managed to become King. Tablo's never been an easy one."   Daehyun emitted a laugh, causing Chaelin to arch a brow. They continued talking and bickering, throwing random accusations at each other. The aura around them was light and joyous.  It was different.   As soon as night had completely fallen and it was now 10.57 PM, they didn't find themselves home but they found themselves walking towards the widely known Namsan Tower. They had agreed on buying matching locks to hang there and even when they wanted to get ones that reflected and would lock their friendship, the ajhumma in the shop ended up giving them two sets. One for the friendship and one for the everlasting love she said they would share. And so, a flushed Chaelin and nervous Daehyun intertwined hands and with both having one of each lock
