Trapped
Description
Jongin tried to erase the guilty thoughts swirling in his head.
After all, they deserved it, leaving their door unlocked and the keys so conveniently inside.
What sane person wouldn't steal it?
He turned the steering wheel sharply, pushing his feet down harder on the accelerator. There was no turning back now. He was already quite the distance away from the shopping market and he couldn't just go back and return the car now. Not when the owner would probably be back.
Dad's going to be thrilled, He thought, a small smile appearing on his face.
But that smile wouldn't last long.
"Mom?"
His heart stopped in his chest and his breath hitched in his throat. Stepping down on the brakes abruptly, he turned around to identify the small voice from the back of the car.
He opened his mouth to say something, but nothing came out.
He had only meant to steal a car.
Never to kidnap a girl with it.
Foreword
Joohyun heard the car door open.
She stayed still, not moving from her curled up position in the backseat. She was covered in blankets from head to toe, which is why the stranger hadn't seemed to notice her.
She had pleaded for her stepmother to leave the keys in the car so she could turn on the heat if she got cold. Though the two argued for a while, in the end, she had finally agreed.
That had been a mistake on her part.
This stranger, was most definitely not her stepmother. He cursed under his breath, his voice husky and low. His breathing was uneasy and ragged. And he smelled of gasoline and cigarette smoke, much to her distaste.
She vaguely registered the fact that this stranger was backing out of the parking lot. He was kidnapping her, though he seemed to be unaware of the fact that he was doing so. In fact, she presumed that he had no idea of her presence there.
Therefore, she decided to let him know, in a somewhat sly way.
"Mom?"
The car suddenly stopped, nearly lurching her forward. She grunted in annoyance. She raised her arms and pulled the blankets off her.
She was nearly 100% sure that the guy was staring her down, but it didn't bother her.
After all, she was blind.
