On my way home, I kept thinking how I have a perfect and peaceful life. Lost in my thoughts, I crossed a road and after that, all I remember is a big white flash and a liquid streaming down my right cheek. When I woke up, I was laying in a hospital bed attached to many machines. As I opened my eyes, I saw a white sealing but only half of it. Not understanding, I did what anybody would have done, I raised my hand to my right eye feeling not my skin but some bandages. After that, a loud sound was heard and soon after, a doctor and two nurses came in my room. Seeing them come in, I understood that I was in a hospital. Confused, I asked what happened. The doctor explained to me that I was run over by a drunk driver and the bandage on my eye was because it was damaged when the car hit me and it was bleeding a lot. The white flash I saw was the lights of that car and the liquid was actually blood. Because of the big amount of blood I lost, he wasn’t sure that I’d survive but if I did, there was a possibility that I would never wake up. I had been unconscious for two months. While he explained the story, one of the nurses called my family. After hanging up, he came to me and said:

~ Your family is really happy to know that you’ve awoken and they told me they’re coming to see you right this moment.

Well when I say family, I mean an adoptive family. Yup, I was adopted. My adoptive parents are named Mary and James. They had a daughter named Syla. She’s a really popular girl which isn’t a surprise considering how pretty she was. She has golden blond hair and emerald green eyes. As for me, I have raven black hair with royal blue eyes and was invisible no matter where I was. As you can see, we’re total opposites…

I've never met my real parent or known if I had any siblings but I didn't really care. I was now leading a calm and serene life with my adoptive parents and their daughter and it was going to continue being like that. Or so I thought... I hadn't yet noticed that this car accident would change everything including the course of my life...
