Foreword
You didn't turn to face him. You just
stood there with your umbrella
listening to nothing but the pour of
the rain. "I really like you." Ricky
repeated a second time. You didn't
know what to say. You already had
someone else you liked, even though
that someone probably didn't even
know you existed. You were good
friends with Ricky and thought of
him like a little brother, but in no way
romantically. You knew if you said no
your friendship would never be the
same again, even if you tried to
pretend it was. If you said yes could
you really love him? "Can you accept
my heart?" He asked. You shook
your head and kept walking down the
street. You couldn't see his face but
you could feel his heart breaking.
"Please?" He shouted after you. "I'm
sorry, Ricky." You whispered. "I just
don't know right now."
