Description
Power, fame, and money: without doubt, these three were the prevalent qualities that proved “success” in current society.
What was it about them that allowed even the darkest, deepest, and ugliest truths to be hidden in a façade of perfection?
What was it about them that made the righteous to bow down and the weak to beg for mercy?
What was it about them that entitled a select few to be able to look down on everybody else and redefine the boundaries of justice?
What the world was like up there, Lee Jieun could not even imagine; she would just have to get there to find out.
Foreword
“One more,” he continuously thought to himself as he gulped down glass after glass of alcohol. “Just one more, and maybe then, I’ll lose consciousness…” He reached for the bottle of brown liquor in front of him, only to be stopped by a cold, white hand.
“Lu Han… Don’t do this.”
When he looked up, he saw none other than Lee Jieun standing before him with a pale and worried face. Without further ado, he grabbed her by the wrist. “You came,” he slurred. “You came after all.”
“Don’t make it harder than it needs to be,” she told him in a pleading voice. “It’s hard for me, too.”
Suddenly, he burst up from his seat and managed to stand still with support of the bar stool beside him. “I love you… I love you so much. But why does it hurt? Why is my love for you hurting me so damn much?”
She clenched her fist and turned away. “Go home,” she said. “You’re drunk. Call a cab.”
He suddenly pulled her into a tight embrace. “Don’t leave me,” he whispered in her ear. “I can’t live without you.” Then, in a decisive tone, he said, “Marry me.” He pulled away and placed his hands on her shoulders. “Marry me, Lee Jieun.”
Crystal clear liquid from her eyes began to stain her cheeks.
“I’ll take that as a yes.” With alcohol being his courage, Lu Han closed the gap between him and Jieun, bringing his lips to hers for the very first time. As their lips intertwined with one another, the taste of salt reached their tongues; he believed that it was not only tears that they were sharing, but their hearts and minds as well.
“I love you,” he whispered over and over between their teary kiss. “I love you with every fiber of my existence.”
She opened her eyes. “I love you too.”
And she smirked.
I know I shouldn't be adding to the preexisting pool of exo fics, but I couldn't help myself; LuhanxIU is just one of my favorite ships (after MyungU). Anyway, though I did claim to be on hiatus, I'll try to update when I can...when I can...emphasis: when I can. Please comment and let me know what you think! (if you're a nice person, just know that comments make my day)
(04/22) Oh my god I'm crying over the perfection called my poster. T----T Thank you sooo much to MusicChibi!
